Yep, that’s just the way it goes sometimes. Heck, the land I was on wasn’t even mine. I sure don’t have any right to be upset about it.

I guarantee you that the deer will be all over that freshly tilled ground tonight though.

I left my stand there and I’ll go back in the morning. If a doe gives me a shot I’ll take it.

Either way, when that sit is over I’ll be moving that stand to another location for the time being.

Yea it led down into a swamp about 40 yards away and I did jump deer out of there when I walked into there. Nice bedding area.

Just got done mowing for the first time in a month. Other than having to mow the backyard 3 times no advers effects yet.

Still going to wait 2 more weeks before I even contemplate trying to pull the bow back, hell, I think the crossbow would be worse to draw, but would probably be beneficial not having to hold.

Luckily I have several weeks before the rut and won't even be an issue by then.

Offer to go help him cut 8' lengths to haul back to his place, so he doesn't have to drive so far to cut wood. About 6 cords will keep him busy a while.

I put out my camera in a new spot today with some apples and an apple block. I will check it in about 10 days. If that big boy is on it Im doing what I can to hunt it. If he is not, Im letting it go and completely focusing on the public. Fished for the last time this year today...starting next week its all pre-season scouting and giving the woods hell for 10 weeks.

Swamp asked me to post of his outfitted crocs for his saddle hunt walk in this year.

He seemed stoked, kept Bruh'ing me.

nah, I think it's dual purpose for him- gets him out of the house/away from his wife, and pisses us off and ruins our hunts on "his" deer. Soon has he drops a deer he doesn't come back the rest of the season until rifle. One of the only nice things about WI being a one-buck (bow) state.

What a disappointment the new place was.

I saw one deer a half hour before dark. It was so thick in there that I couldn’t see what it was even though it was only 30 yards away.

I’ll have to look it over and find a better location.

Dang. Who knows how it could've gone if it weren't for those darn kids and their motorcycles. Zoinks!

Still had to be a good feeling and I'm sure you'll get it sorted out. I'll still follow along in the morning while shooting at doves.

All set up with 30 minutes until first light.

I’m back in what will now be known as the dirt bike stand.

If I don’t see anything I’ll know this spot is ruined temporarily and I’ll pull my stand.

Good luck LC. I feel sorry for the deer.

    "And shepherds we shall be.
For Thee, my Lord, for Thee.
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand.
That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee.
And Teeming with souls shall it ever be.
In Nomine Patris, et Fili, et Spiritus Sancti."

Nothing at all so far. Even the raccoons I always see here are no- shows.
