Pretty similar situation here too. The wife and I’s anniversary is the 18th of October and her birthday is on the 16th of November.

Earlier this afternoon I went and put one of my climbers on a tree on my neighbor's 14 acre property I got permission to hunt. The entire place is crazy thick with young trees but there is an old four wheeler trail that angles through it from their house and about 1/3 of the way through it there is a good sized clearing with a great trail leading into it. The deer are surely using that old trail as a travel path.

I don't see any buck sign there at all, but I'm still going to sit it this afternoon and tomorrow morning to try to get a better handle on how the deer are traveling this area.

I don't have high hopes at all, but it'll beat sitting in the recliner.

Guess you could say I’m getting aggressive tonight. Decided to penetrate the woods a little. We have a strange wind this evening coming out of the NNE. So I gillied up and came up this ridge side to scout and instantly seen two ribs and moments after I smell piss. Strong piss coming from up wind so I positioned about 20 yards from where I smelled it. Not to thick I’m here but some big downed trees. LETS HUNT!!

Decided to sneak a hunt in before I wait till next weekend. Rained all day yesterday, it’s warm and I’m sweating but wind is perfect and my big boys have still been coming through.

I’m in the stand for the evening. Weather is less than ideal. Temp is 80 with 15 mph winds.

I may be cutting this short, winds picking up and heavy rain coming earlier than expected

    I’m all set up.

Once I got up to 25 feet I realized this is a better looking spot than I thought.

    This place just feels “deery”.

Of course the wind is hitting every point on the compass. Might just as well leave the Ozonics off so I can hear.

Is there noise associated with using Ozonics?

I just couldn't make myself go in this crap. Going on doe patrol in the morning tho. I think that front pushes through middle of the night. Good luck and hope that new spot at least gives some insight.

That's how it was for me going in yesterday. It's mostly uphill going to my stand, and I stopped numerous times to catch my breath and to cool down, but was literally dripping sweat when I got to my tree anyway. I'm waiting another week or so to hunt, when it'll be cooler. As I get older, my body has more stringent requirements!

    Not really noise. Just sound.

Any fan running generates some sound. You can’t hear it If it’s 5 feet away but when it’s right over your head you can.

It sounds loud that close but I already know deer can’t hear it.

Deer make almost no sound early season of course so it keeps me from hearing them coming. I don’t think that’ll be a problem once the leaves are on the ground.

What you described there is enough to ensure I never get one. I rely a lot on hearing my deer first, because by the time they're in view they're already in bow range. It's very thick.
