Buck number 3 on the tailgate!
JD snuck in and this buck stood from his bed and he put a 12 yard money shot on him.

Just settled in trying to cool down. My view for tonight's hunt.

Finally able to get out again!! Wind is not ideal but it is good enough. Been a year since my last deer so I don’t care what it is (except for a spike... I live in a one buck state) I’m flinging an arrow

Decided I would give it a go tonight. Wind is suppose to drop ahead of the front that is passing through tonight. Pretty warm and windy right now. Good luck PM shift!

Been in for about an hour. Waded the creek luckily it is like record low water level. I'm over looking a hidden Apple orchard. These are the only apples around for miles. Hoping to get a nice buck to come in here before the rut starts. Hotter than heck.

Back in the stand tonight. Been here about an hour so far and have seen a couple does and the usual army of squirrels. Couple big guys have been on the cams over the past 3 days, hopefully they make an appearance.

Just got set up. Ran into 4 black bears!!...2 different times at 20 to 30 yds on the ground. Goodness man. Its raining and I'm so quiet they never heard me. Backed out and hauled butt in a semi circle to my spot.

I was supposed to be at a wedding this afternoon... But found out I likely have Covid. I was in close contact with someone who tested positive this morning. Was with them all last week and then this week. I had a slight cough, scratchy throat, and headache for 2 days this week but am good now. Basically our entire house got sick this week.

With that being said... I’ll be in the stand this afternoon and a lot more the next 2 weeks!

Never would have seen her if she hadn’t flickered her tail. Had to get Binos out to pick her out again. She walked on.

I had lots of blood issues with Muzzy 100 3 Blades and lost my share of deer. Switched to 100gr NAP Killzones and haven't had a problem since

I'm in a loaded oak pt 70 yds from bedding. If this rain can just let up a bit for 30 to 60 min I might have a shot.

Nice recovery of the doe Camo and great buck USFA! Way to track them down.

    Sharp vs dull blades

    If a deer is

I am up and in hit with dull blades it experiences more pain. Due to the pain they release a clotting agent, thrombin, which can quickly slow the blood flow and therefore making it much more difficult to track. Also, dull blades will move some veins out of the way instead of slicing them open. Sharp blades will slice arteries with less pain and hence, less clotting, leading to a better blood trail.

Humans die if we lose 20% of our blood.
Deer die if they lose 67% of their blood.

I am up in a tree and eager to crush a deer. Aim small, miss small.
