    Cuts in to rut action and trips away from home for sure. Advice to all you young ones, find something else to do from January to February when you are stuck inside during the winter. Haha.

    Nice view, but I don’t like facing east in the morning. Wind is ENE so I had to for this spot.

    I’ve seen 10 so far. Three small bucks (spike, fork and a six) and a group of seven does/fawns.

    Does are safe the first couple of days at least.

    This is where I’m sitting. The deer I’ve seen have all been going north to the pond.

    Past experience here this time of year tells me no shooter bucks will show now, but I’m going to sit for a few hours.

    Anything is possible. One may filter south from the pond.

    I have read the key to killing early season bucks is get them when they're headed to water.
    I have also never killed an early season buck, so there's that.
