So close to getting it done on a nice buck tonight. 10 minutes before last light I hear a deer coming down the trail. I immediately think buck because basically all does/fawns already filtered into the field. I get eyes on him at about 60 yards, coming right down the trail that goes by my stand at 17. He comes into roughly 35-40 and caught my scent and stops on a dime. Stood there for about 5 minutes, takes a few steps, and then blows 6-8 times. He didn't run away, just had his tail up and was kind of stomping around. Walked about 50-60 yards away and came straight back into roughly 25 yards and started grunting over and over (at this time it was too dark to shoot). Exciting end to the night.

I think I can. Going to be sometime next week. Can’t get out this weekend unfortunately.

After the 3 cams I checked tonight I’m not sure I would shoot him or not if given the chance.

So...no blood found yet. Frustrating. Got a guy bringing a bloodhound now. Meeting him in 15 min. Then start with the dog. Fingers crossed

Damn, good luck. Hopefully the dog can get on him.

Care to share shot info while waiting?

Yeah. I shot him at 27 yards broadside. Think I made a great shot but wierd there’s no blood. Didn’t hear him crash either. Did you see my pic of the arrow? What is your guys take on it? Any good or no?

That blood reminds me of a low deer hide/low blood area hit. Very faint and pink. Ive been wrong before and will again...so I am hoping he is dead and found tonight!

In the heat of the moment did you see which way he actually ran? Maybe there is a blood trail 30 yds away on a different line from the shot that you are missing.

Where did you see hit? Did the nock illuminate to aide in seeing it?

Seen arrow but doesn't tell/show much other than fletchings are smeared with blood. Hopefully the dog can get on him, and once he does the blood will be found.

Could be high and not pumping blood right away, not enough info to go by.

She didn’t go much farther. But she was in some thick stuff and hard to track. Woohoo 7D7D8313-A194-4C33-ABC0-2932376D8684.jpeg
