Leaving work at 2:30 today, 20 minute drive. Heading into this spot. Red is my path in through the corn . Yellow is a bed I bumped a decent buck out of last year, with the same wind, about the same time, only it was raining that day. White is a beat down trail. There’s oaks dropping here as well as the corn. I have to be really careful approaching my stand and make sure he’s not in the bed. I can shoot the bed without being in the stand.

If he’s not in the bed when I get there, hopefully he’ll come around and stage up before dark. If nothing happens, entry and exit is solid and I can hit it another time

I climbed down. Going to do a little scouting on my way out. That’s it for me today. Most likely I will be out again tomorrow morning. Good luck to everyone else who is still out!!

When you finish school, celebrate with an out-of-state trip to a more target rich area. You put in way too much effort to see so few deer.

you would think but the 2.5yo 8 I missed on Oct 3 was pushing does all over an oak grove, grunting up a storm. I would've taken video but I had about 6-8 does and a couple spikers within 40-50 yards. That's a lot of eyes.

@Lastoneout he's right that's a pretty common reaction for any hit in that area- doesn't actually have to clip the heart. Think about it- they feel the heat up front low; rear up with their fronts then launch with their rears which give the mule kick effect.

Tony's like a news anchor- only photographed from the waist up so as not to see he's not wearing pants.

I couldn't agree more! You put serious time/effort into this bowhunting thing and you deserve to be rewarded for it.

Hot and windy, good for windsurfing not so much for bowhunting. Good luck PM shift. I’ll be out in the morning.

Trying out my new VT spot. With the draught, the spring 20yds behind me is the only water for a distance. Light SE wind. Im 80yds from one plot and about 150yds from the other. Its very crunchy out here. I will here them from a mile away if they come in. Some pics of the spot.

I'm primarily looking for one buck. I wont shoot Does here cause there are so few, and my other Bucks are all small. This guy is 10pts and probably 4.5yrs old. A great Buck for Central VT. Im sure most mid west archers would pass on him, but here that would be a crime. Pic of the one food plot which is turnip and sugar beets but all leaf because of the drought. The other plot was beans, turnip and kale, the turnips were planted earlier and have huge bulbs. Good luck everyone.
Oh, Turkeys and Bear are also on the menu. 20201005_114530.jpg 20200921_130533.jpg

All set up. Good luck everyone. Corn to my left, nice well used saddle trail out front on the little bedding finger. Entry was pretty good with the wind covering up the corn noise. It’s going to be hard not to pop a doe tonight if I see one
