Heck yes. While the spike was in front of me heading south I heard her blowing to the south. Then I heard her blowing about half as far away.

The spike met up with them and she blew that rapid blow pattern I've heard so many times and her and the doe she was with ran right to me and she stopped 20 yards away. She was the second doe. The first one had passed and this turd of a doe was still blowing and looking back at the spike when I hammered her.

I’ve been gone on vacation for 5 days... Not even sure how many pages I’m behind. It’s a lot.

If they do this thread may be the only thing that proves my innocence.

***Edited to add that while I purchased the two additional archery antlerless tags from the stand, I did already have two archery any deer tags, so it still would have been a legal kill. :tu:

Well, break is over. I had to cool down and have a celebratory beer. She's on the gambrel and I've already skinned her.

Now I have to get her cut up and in the fridge. Think I'll take a couple of beers with me. :tu:

Ever want to be an inconsiderate bastard and rethink it only to post about being inconsiderate and a what if scenario?

I really wish I'd turned my Tactacam on, but from the time she blew at the spike to the shot was about 45 seconds. It was all I could do to get my bow up and get my release on. I was taking no chances with any extra movement.

I've said on here before that she would just start blowing for no particular reason. She'd be WAY upwind and I'd hear her blow. That's how I knew she was in the area. Sometimes it might have been me, but most times it couldn't have been me. This is only the second doe I've heard of that did that.

I have no idea what her issue was, but I was really tired of it. Mental issues could very well have been the reason. She wasn't lactating so she had no fawns (at least this year).

If she was like that all the time it's no wonder she never got any.

If that's the case, I'm pretty sure a retarded deer tastes just like one with all it's mental faculties. :tu:

Found the rest of my arrow and my Slick Trick.

She was quartering away pretty hard when I shot because she was looking back at the spike.

The entry wound was high at the back of the ribs.

Below is where I found my broadhead. (Pic is not for the faint of heart) It tore her boiler room all up and shattered her off side front leg bone.

Once I cleaned it up the Slick Trick looks like I never shot it.

No exit wound through the hide and therefore not much of a blood trail.

Good thing my wife was able to walk down quickly. I stayed in the tree and guided her to where I’d seen it run into the ravine and crash.

Alone I might not have found her.

Also, watching her run off with that Nocturnal lit up was very cool. This is my first year hunting with lighted nocks and it's not often that I don't get a pass through. Actually, we found the arrow because of the Nocturnal and that put us on what blood there was.
