Just had a lone doe slip in behind me. I don't where she came from but she must have seen a little movement. She stomped around for a while and then just continued on her way. Hopefully that's a good sign

Had a yearling and a different spike buck walk by. Usually see something when blue jays start cherping.

Past couple years you are doing your best to kick MI's reputation as a small buck state to the curb. Heckuva deer!

Mine was 2018 as well. I guess we are even. I thought your butt shot buck was 2017 for some reason.:bash: Hopefully, it is a better season for both of us. Sounds like we are both due for a good season. Its the least 2020 could do since the rest of the year has been a world-wide cluster.

are you in an APR county? It was starting to pay off in our area, then CWD hit and they removed it and people were whacking every dinker they saw, now they are back. Good thing is most of the private land in our area is part of a QDM co-op but public is public and those hunters love them some spikers.

I like APRs in theory but they need to figure out a caveat for big 6ers and non-typicals. There are plenty of 1.5-2.5yo 8 points running around that are legal and lots of 3.5yo+ that will never have 4+ on one side that are not legal.

The 6 or 7 I saw Sept 30 was at least a 3.5 yo (I would say older) and literally crossed back and forth across the county line from an APR to a non-APR county...within the same SGA.

Frustrating, if I ever get a crack at him I pray it's on the unrestricted side or he's got a 4th point on the one side I didn't see.

Had two fawns in a distant plot and nothing else but squirrel. The sun crested the tree tops on the ridge above me and my nice steady southern breeze turned into a "dust devil" type wind...time to leave the bedding area.
Checked wooden blind and new chestnuts on the way out. Well interior of blind TORE UP! What a mess mouse droppings everywhere. Chair covers chewed up, curtains chewed up ...F. Ers!!!!!!. Acorns everywhere..

The new chestnuts are great save one got snapped at the top of mouse gaurd, though it has branches lower and will be OK. 4 of the 5 other down there have chestnuts, one has some just popping.
Not sure if I'll get back out need to visit grandson and make a nice dinner for anniversary.
