Related, if by chance you have a shot but don't connect, a full report in 'Monica, blew it' will be required.

Looks like all systems go for an afternoon hunt tomorrow!

So last week I was hunting in the area where I now want to put my dad in on Thursday, the swampy area, and I had the dreaded stomach gurgling at 20' up. My new-found saddle hunting skills were put to the test as I descended down the tree with all of my strength shifted to clenching my cheeks. By the grace of the god of feces, I made it down the tree but wasn't making it too far after that. I dropped trou in the mountain laurel...and did the deed. I did the usual, cover it with leaves. On Saturday when I was telling my dad about the spot I want to put him in, this event popped in my mind. It is only a few yards away from the spot I have picked out for him......(I walked through there on Friday evening, and there was plenty of fresh deer sign, so it obviously hasn't affected the deer movement through there.)

What do I do? LOL!!! Should I go there tomorrow afternoon and bury the poo? or on Thursday, do I tell my dad, we should hold off on that spot until we get closer to the rut?

This is valid. It doesn't always work out with Monica. For example Monica is my ex wife's name. True to form, she sucks.

Animals poop in the woods all the time. I wouldn't worry about it unless your dad steps in it. You never hear the rear end of it if he does.

I forgot to recap my hunt from Saturday eve. Saw couple does but like axtell I underestimated the height of the weeds I was in and when i drew back and waited they had already passed . Weeds were so high it gave them complete cover. No shot. Then it gets worse. After last light I start packing up. I had for got pull rope for bow but I used my bowsling and just climbed with it on my back. When I went to put bow on my back to climb down it came out of sling and took a 20’ tumble. It seemed to be a soft landing. Got out of there and went to shoot bow Sunday before I went out again. It was too windy for me to be comfortable. My shots were scattered but I think everything is ok. Decided not to hunt with it till I can shoot it with no wind.

just try it at 10 - if your bow got jacked you will know. Long as your arrows are all hitting on point with straight entry (not tailing) you will be fine.

Most of us bare shaft tune w/in 10 yards which gives the arrow plenty of time to exhibit a tail. But at 10 your vanes won't have time to correct a tail.

I shot a few at 20 but I was having a hard time holding with 25-30 mile hr. Wind gusts. I’ll shoot tonight from 10 and have some extra eyes on my arrow. I have a feeling I’m good tho
