Wind has shifted and picked up. Thermals from the creek are no longer pulling my scent in. I am going to get down and fond a tree on the other side of the thicket where the doe was. After that, going for a midday scout in a different area before heading home. Good luck guys.

Thanks Brett- you were right. I found (or re found) a little acorn dropping grove and they were slamming it.
Saving grace is I am pretty sure Mr. Big wasn't among them so I'm going to hit it again this evening as I believe they are staging there and slamming the acorns before they go out in the corn standing corn at night.
I am bruised and battered but not broken.

I'm down and out and back at the truck for some lunch. I only saw 1 doe this morning but my cameras tell me there's a good buck coming through here semi regularly. We just gotta be here at the same time. Probably gonna sit on some falling acorns this evening and see if anything comes through there.

Slow going here. I thought there would be later morning movement. Was planning on staying until 2. 1 is sounding better at this rate.

Yup does or a descent buck. Feels good to have left that little guy walk by this am. I generally don’t let an opportunity pass like that. Going back out at 1:30 or so. Still debating where to sit. May roll some dice!!

I'm out. Had turkeys wander into 20yds...about as exciting as it got. Though that squirrel, totally a booner, tail had to be a foot long and the body the size of a young cat.

Got some coffee and let it cool off by popping the lid slightly. Next thing I know I had woken up 20 minutes later and grabbed said coffee with popped lid....the rest is what you can imagine. Pants and shirt full of coffee. Guess that means its time to hunt.
