    Lol maybe next sit. I was pretty tired after my scouting and long walk around because of wind direction. But my kids want to trail a deer so I’ll probably drop one next time. Has anyone seen much buck sign?

    Every hunt the buck sign is getting better and better. Every hunt I'm seeing more Just can't seem to find a buck 3 or older.

    I'm not feeling too bad about not getting out, between the full moon and crops still in I likely saved myself a lot of grief and the thread a lot of whine.

    I will doe hunt before Halloween because I know once Halloween gets here I'll be reluctant to shoot a doe because I just know there is a buck behind her :lol:

    Back home stuffing my face! Great night to be in the woods for sure. I really felt like I was in the right spot over the right sign, the deer just didn’t cooperate. I’m taking tomorrow off due to it being my parents 50 th anniversary And our plans we have.

    Good luck to all of those who will be out tomorrow! Hoping to be back in the woods on Tuesday.

    Guys I'm kind of nervous. For the first time my oldest daughter wants to go on a deer hunt with me. She's only 7. She has been talking all week about and so excited for tomorrow. I just want her to see a deer up close. But the places I hunt I not the easiest to get to. I wish I had something close, but see wants to go were I hunt. She keeps saying she doesn't care how dark it gets or how far we have to walk. I've been putting so much pressure on my self to think of a place. I believe I got a great spot, just hope she can make it. Also I don't want to turn her off on her first hunt. Also to make it even tougher, she wants to saddle hunt. There's no way I'm going to keep her still! Lol

    Tonight’s wind sucked. I had to change stands and it was wrong in that stand too. Like it kept blowing in circles. Tomorrow has to be better

    Just relax and have fun. Remember this isn’t even about the hunt, it’s about father/daughter time. Your spending time with her and that’s the biggest win you can get. Good luck to you both.

    I ended up seeing three bucks. One fork, one six, and one nice eight point that I think I would’ve killed given the chance.
    The eight and the four point were play sparring together for a little bit and I got some video of it.
    They went the wrong direction, good to see some horn though, can’t complain.

    Mark it fun, memorable and enjoy the time with her.

    50yrs after my first hunt (and 30 since I hunterd with my father), I remember... the snacks (tootsie rolls and tangelos) my Dad would bring...brunch was always peperoni and sharp cheese... We'd stop at some crappy dinner /bar for lunch on occasion...

    Thank you. Yes I that's my plan. I won't even shot a deer if one shows up. My whole reason for this is spend time with her doing something that I love. For her she doesn't get that yet. She just wants to see a deer. So that's the pressure that I'm putting on my self. I'm going to love every minute of it, just hoping she will find her own joy in it.

    Most likely! Lol. The crazy thing is she has some of the craziest good luck. You go to the carnival and she wins every game. I will cast a rod for when fishing and I hand it over to her, then with in a minute she will catch a fish. I would bet tomorrow a big buck will walk right by us!

    So, no deer for me tonight. I did have 3 doe come in during shooting light but never gave me a clean shot. They got down wind of me and then must have caught my scent cause they started blowing like crazy and took off. Two of them were biggins! Hoping to get out again tomorrow evening. My son has his first flag football game at 0900 and he is totally pumped. Gonna be a good day. Y’all be safe, have fun and kill something!
