He checked in the team thread, sa8d he was tired and hesding to bed and would give intro when he wakes up.

Hasn't been back since, tried reaching out to him to no avail.

Don't care if he waits until N9v. To sgow back up, just wish I knew things were ok with him. Kinds makes it hard to pick on him right now.

Hopefully things are good, remember several years back when Fitz was running the contest he came into our thread and informed us one of out teammates had died of natural causes while on an out of state hunt.

Ever since that day I always try to reach out to members who haven't been around in awhile.

Gri22ly and chago are two others chago hasn't been around since January and didn't sign up this year and gri22ly sas going through some family and job issues last season so hoping things ended well with him. Chago still a bit concerned about.

Mystery solved. Brush pile in front of the deer. From the height of the stand, angle and height of the deer I thought I would clear it but I didnt. Marks all up and down the shaft and a fletching ripped off. The deer was obviously closer to the pile then what i thought. Glad it was debris miss and not a nerves or bad form miss. I thought I was dead center on the Buck, I was, just through a brush pile. Poor situational awareness in the heat of the moment on my part..

He never saw me, winded me. He will be back. Everything happens for a reason. Maybe something bigger will come along, maybe a little humble pie, maybe he will live another year and get bigger, maybe one of my young kids will take him an be their biggest buck yet!

Turkeys at 100. Last year deer usually followed within half hour of the turkeys.

I just gave a decent 8 a haircut. He pegged me on the draw. Really steep angle so he didn't have to drop much. Originally I thought I got him high but still under the spine. When I got down to check the arrow it was clean as a whistle except for two hairs on one vane. Broadhead is still razor-sharp. No blood, he's fine and now knows to look up.

I was covered in deer for the better part of an hour and I blew it. He showed up right at the end of it, grunting and pushing the does around. At least 8 deer saw that go down and took off like their tails were on fire. One of them was another decent buck that I hadn't seen until they all blew out.

    Dammit.

What a terrible sit. The wind kept shifting and I got winded from two different directions despite having the Ozonics running. It's not foolproof.

So, no deer sighted at all.

I'm going to sleep in tomorrow.

Ready to roll for tomorrow am.

Pulled out the Havalon and realized I forgot to clean it after the elk... :alien:
Though I literally broke the blade on the last joint...there was just enough blade left to hack the last ligament and I ditched the blade shard that remained...and this will sound extra macabre, but I love the smell of elk blood.

Ready to hunt tomorrow though. Sweet dreams.

Pretty good sit overall. Seen 6 does. 4 of them I could of killed but wasn’t motivated to drag one of them that far out of public. Hoping to get on the mature bucks again. I have some vacation 14-19 so I might slip down at the family farm

Home and showered, T-ball at 10a tomorrow then it’s either hunt or take son to pumpkin patch. I’m leaning towards picking out our pumpkins though. Saw a big body deer about 200 yards when I was packing my stuff in the truck, couldn’t make out any headwear but the body was big. If I get out tomorrow, I’ll have to hunt the bottom field area, wind is SE.
