I'm down and out of the woods. Great evening at the end. Rain tonight. Ground blind in the morning. When the rain stops it should be good.

Saturday is finally a perfect wind direction for my stand. Only thing is I’ve had stray dogs ruin my hunt tonight and last time I went hunting. Idk what to do I’ve contacted all the surrounding neighbors. None of them knew anything about the dogs. They’ve killed a fawn, 1 pig, 2 of the landowners geese, and attacked her last pig tonight while I was heading to hunt. My season will be ruined if I don’t figure something out.

Well I went tonight but I may as well have stayed home. First thing I spooked two does off the foodplot when I went in at 1500. I checked a couple of cams and was just about ready to climb up when the thunder and lightning started in. I thought I could wait it out but then it started to rain pretty hard. I gave it another half hour or so and then called it. I got back to the truck about 1700 and started home. Within 10 miles or so the sun was out so bright I had to put on sunglasses. Weird evening.

Well guys it was one hell of a good opening night. I ended up seeing somewhere around 20 deer, including 6 different bucks. I had tension on the string to shoot a doe when I spotted the big 8 I posted about earlier. He was coming on a string when another decent buck popped out of the ditch, they sparred, worked about 5 scrapes and then took a left when I needed them to come right and close another 40 yards.

When the rain stopped the flood gates opened wide and in a hurry. Might be back in there Sunday evening to hunt the stand I wanted to be in tonight

Sounds like we had the same weather. Not great for deer movement. We’ll get em next time.

Likes all around guys and congrats on deer

Had a great opening day though one draw no shots. Tonight I bumped two different flocks of turkey on plot going in after seeing yet anouther flock up in farmers clover as I left house. Then had a redtail Dive in and snatch chipper and fly it past my face at ten feet, how cool! After that a flock of 11 turkey came in and at one point they were in front behind and under my stand. After this a doe and fawn with 2 hog sway belly doe come in. This is where greed got me. Doe and fawn were first at 12 yrds, couldn't draw due to eyes...then they moved off as hog does came in following them. Well clean shot on first hog but second was bigger so I drew and waited. Second decided to rush through opening not even giving a chance for a stop...lol A while later in came an injured doe with twins... Twins gave lots of shot ops but mom stayed in brush until too far out. Looked like a rear foot infection. What a fun afernoon

I’m back at the house. I ended up seeing a fawn and small buck with about 15 minutes of light left, the good thing was they came on the tail I made for them. Snuck out of there with them still in the clover, good thing it was a little windy to cover my noise.
