Headed in for a recon on the ground hunt/scout evening. No clue what to expect but I'd love to get a doe and even see a decent buck. Good luck anybody out. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
They don't? Not even for saddle hunters? Maybe you need to buy new camo... Throw a cooler in the back of the vehicle, go sit the evening...
In a ditch w a make shift blind hoping the cross in front. I think i can get drawn without being seen, slowly come up and shoot. Hell idk. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Yeah I feel that last part like. It’s like they know when your feeling like letting them walk, or smokin one. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
So freakin' close. About 40 minutes before dark I caught movement to the south. I glassed it and it was the 10 point. He was moving very slowly feeding from the south headed north, right to the clearing that would give me a 30 yard shot and under. I watched that sucker for 25 minutes. He's a great buck. He got to about 50 yards and went behind a big cluster of oak branches and never materialized on the other side. I know he didn't see or wind me. The wind was hitting the right side of my face as I was watching him. Maybe he just changed course. If he had turned east I'd have seen him. If he turned west I'd have had a hard time seeing him do it. That's what he must have done because I didn't see him double back. If he'd come another 20 yards I'd have had a chance. If he'd come another 40 yards he'd have been dead. That was the only deer I saw, but it was a great encounter. I was a bit surprised to see him on his feet in daylight, but part of me expected it after the deluge last night and no movement this morning.
Saw one doe. Big girl that came in on my left and stayed left when I needed her to go right. Tried to sneak down the ditch and she knew something was up. Stomped, blew twice and walked off. Oh well that was going to be a loooong drag anyway. I'll be at it again Friday. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app

Five more sunrises, four more sunsets, and a bunch of bs'ing about roofs but I'll finally be in the stand.
