Pouring rain here, but I need to work anyway. Good luck. I always love hunting as soon as the rain stops.

    All set up.

I forgot how difficult it can be to climb a wet red oak in total darkness.

The rain just stopped after raining all night.

The only question now is whether to sit or stand. The seat is soaked.

No deer moving yet. I really expected movement at first light.

I did have something walk under me just before legal light but I couldn’t tell what it was. It looked like a small hog or a giant raccoon with no tail.

    Still no movement yet.

The moon will be underfoot from 9:44 - 11:44.

I’ll sit until around noon if I don’t get one before then.

I guess it is true in every species, the crazy females are obvious to anyone with a little life experience.

hard to tell for me by the pics, but if they don't share common base the little mutant point is the brow and the other is the G2.
The little one is all warty like the other side's brow tine...the point next to it is smooth like a G2.

    I have turkeys here.

Aren’t they supposed to run away when they bust you instead of staying there chirping at you for 15 minutes?

If you have a tag they run away, if not they mock you

Sha-BANG! I cannot believe how much action (killing) there was this weekend. 76 hours from now I will finally get to climb into a tree for our bow opener in MI. Does are always on the menu.

    Way to get it done:
Shawn - great job on the doe. Freakin' huge wound on her.
Josh- Great buck and I love the blood pics. Glad you found him.
Humpy - nice job on the buck
Mn - not sure I ever saw the pic of your buck
Bucksnbear - way to make the best of it. How many bear have you shot?
