Thanks everyone for the encouragement after yesterday. Family commitments are going keep my out of the woods for the next couple of weeks. I am going to leave the bow alone for a few days, clear my head of the funk and then get back to it. Good luck if you are out today!

Live from the garage.. about to head to coffee with the guys for the last time this year. Season opens Tuesday. So ready to be in a tree. Went out yesterday and put my seat cushions up in stands so the squirrels will have something to chew on. I was sitting in my favorite stand just admiring the view when a couple of does walked through, no camo and sweating my ass off. They must have sensed I didnt have a bow on me.. and I'm thinking I have the wind right for that stand.

Outta time today. Cant wait for some weather shifts and these bucks to start cruising. I'm going to hit public lands again next weekend. Family and football the rest of today, so good luck out there folks.

I'm out of the stand this morning and done for the weekend.

I see the importance of having two releases in your bag. My Scott release quit working this morning. Rest assured that won't happen again.

Call them, they'll replace it for free (in case you didn't know). They recently replaced a 10 year old Sabertooth for me with their newest model.

Well, I’m bored fellas (and ladies), only football game on is Tennessee @ Atlanta, and it’s not bad, but it’s not exciting. I think I’ll head to the woods at halftime.
I don’t know where, I’ve never really put any effort into early season hot midday to evening hunts. I have a nice shady spot by the creek, it’s about the only shady watering hole on the property, it’s not easy hunting small property with very little woods to get into. Have to catch them going to the beans, surprisingly they still have some green in them.

Don’t know how I let you guys talk me into this, it’s hot AF. I’m in my doe spot, have 3 fat doe that would hang around here, hopefully they come out from the double tree, if they come behind me I’m screwed. I’m sweating like a pig, no way I could kill that smell.
    Almost forgot my selfie

Went ahead and processed the two does I brought home from Kentucky.

    That's 3 in the freezer.

    It's a start. :tu:

Oh, the door is full of bass fillets. IMG_3548.jpg

I'll tell you what, guys, I've got it bad.

I haven't even rested up from the last trip, I just finished processing two deer, my hunting clothes are still in the dryer, I still need to clean up my arrow and I can't wait to get back out there.

I said it before and I'll say it again: this season is going to be a bloodbath.

And I’m busted, came in behind me, mama and a few yearlings. It’s too damn hot out here, I’m sweating my ass off. Going to give it 10-15 and call it a weekend.

Might wanna tie a safety line to that bow. Third hand holders are pretty rock solid but bows don’t float.

I loved watching my kids grow up. I missed so much of their younger years on deployments so I wouldn't trade anything for the times I was able to be there.

You have your priorities straight young man.
