    I should have picked a different color for my lighted nock than green. Unless the arrow stuck in the offside shoulder, this green vegetation is making it hard to see.

    Been covered up in deer since first light.

    Two bucks walked almost under me right at dawn but it was too dark to shoot or see exactly how big they were.

    Had some does finally close the distance and I targeted one of the young ones. Perfect shot at 25 yards.

    She crashed about 60 yards away.

    Nothing but fawns and squirrels for me.

    I just don’t understand how a 200 lb deer with 3 feet of antlers stuck to its head can walk by right next to you without so much as crunching a leaf while a 1 pound squirrel that’s half a mile away sounds like a friggin herd of buffalo stampeding through the woods.

    Well crap. I was about to get down and I glassed the area.

    There is a buck bedded 60 yards away in some cover. He looks good but it's warming up quick and I've got to get down soon.

    This is a new problem for me.

    Well on the bright side - if you wait long enough the deer you shot earlier will be a perfect medium-rare by the time you load it in the truck.
