Love hunting from my blind. Makes it possible to get the kiddos out in the woods with you and hide their movements from the deer!

    Good luck to you both!!

had blood at impact but no blood on arrow only fat. blood was spraying at a pace where it was a constant red path. i looked once and it looked like bubbles in the blood but it was raining so i wasnt sure if it was water in the blood? the blood seemed to slow after a while. we only tracked it about 150 yds then lost it when it got out of the snow. after i shot her she deliberately ran away from the other deer which is normal when hurt badly. but it was so foggy it became hard to see anything. i might have hit her low or in the front leg. either way it was a lot of blood for a leg hit from what i could tell. i'll go in and grid it off tomorrow morning. i'm not feeling very confident.

Buck came in just before shooting time to 10yds. Looking at the body I'd say it was 1.5yrs. Thought it was a Doe at first but as it got close I could just barely make out the white, inside the ears forks. Pretty sure it's a 6pt I have on camera with 8" spikes and small forks with 1" brow tines. Needless to say I didnt shoot him cause it was a couple min before shooting time and not what I'm looking for. Cool to have a Buck so close and not have him detect you.

I'm out, bunch of squirrels, after the buck. Going to try a ground attack this afternoon. Does and any decent Buck will be on the menu.

I'm in, on the ground. On the edge of cut corn. Sign says they will come by me at 20yds. We will see. Saw 20 out in this cut corn two days ago.

20 degrees, NW wind at 5 mph and an itchy trigger finger all add up to me headed to the woods again. Snow tapering off now and I need to check a camera to see if the 10 I wounded has come back through. Maybe I can get redemption today. Season ends Wednesday so today and tomorrow are it for me until September. Definitely taking the coveralls and hot hands.

I’m right there with ya Ridge! Perfect conditions this evening here as well, except no snow. It just missed us unfortunately. Layering up, boot blankets & hot hands in the pack ready to go!

Good luck to all the late season warriors tonight!!

New spot and new pin oak equals some patience and some foul language but I'm settled in. Sure is quiet out here and I didnt see a single track in the snow here. They either haven't moved since the storm or they are still avoiding this section bc of the debacle on the first. Had one doe on camera nearby. Good luck O slinger! And anybody else out.

He’s only got to climb 12 feet to be 20’ up. That’s not that bad.
