Wired to hunt podcast with mark drury was talking about weather/wind/etc, great podcast and he was saying wind under 7mph is difficult to kill deer in. Your stank is stanking in all direction and kind of stagnant since the wind can’t really carry it off.

    Good news, you’re seeing deer.

Good call Joe. Glad you are getting some action. Goes to show spots that were good years ago usually still are unless something major has changed

Makes sense. Plus with the sun not hitting my spot yet, thermals could be falling where I was in the shade. Good to see deer! Lol

That’s it for me! Temperature rising fast. Great hunt!! there’s nothing like seeing the woods come alive in the morning. Good luck to anyone else who is still out!

This is what I’m up to today. Taking care of the results of my deer “hunting trip” from June. Just a bumper cover, fender and head light. Not too bad

That is my favorite thing to do. To see the woods for the first time when the sun rises. Cant beat it.

hah, my wife hit 2 in 6 months in Michigan. And we don't live in Michigan. At least it's not cutting into your hunting time.
Oct 1 (5th for me) can't come fast enough.

Just got back to the house, no luck this morning, going in blind in the dark and picking a spot proved to be difficult, could only see about 15-20 yards all morning, found a nice area to check out next time I’m down! Glad you saw some deer joe!!

Lil help fellas...my 40 acre plot has no action whatsoever in areas I can hunt without adding too much pressure. I was going to go 45 minutes to a public spot I've never set foot on but looks awesome. It is supposed to pour rain at some point between now and dark but looks like it wont really get going till about dark.

So hunt an edge of the 40 close to home or make the journey to public and risk running for cover from a almost a mile in?

Thanks fellas. Public it is! I was leaning that way and it is all about the experiences. I'll update later but I'm bout to pack up and go.
