Me too. Been doing some scouting in MD and VA this week, bringing my bow back with me to D.C. after my trip home this weekend.

    Never say die.

Good Luck to everyone that's able to hunt today. I'm hoping to slip away a little early this afternoon and get in the stand with our 12 year old. He keeps asking to go. We just need a north wind which has been hard to come by. Hard to believe that it's hard to come by in December.

Purchased my 12yo son a Centerpoint Crossbow for Christmas. All sighted in 20,28,33,37. Spot on bullseye. Shoots very well, easy to put together and sight in. Nice lighted reticle, green or red , for low light. 4 Easy circles for sight picture. Surprises: cocking rope is too long for us 5'6" short people, the rapid rate of drop for an advertised 370fps crossbow . Very psyched about our 15773746872807019143520177312648.jpg Jan 30, 31,1 trip.

Good idea. Buddy invited me to go after some crappie but I had about a 14hr day of Christmas festivities yesterday. Worn out. Lol he sent me this 3B6951CE-5D63-4E67-90B8-28578CB71647.jpeg

Actually I ended up just staying home and relaxing the past few days.

To be honest I was pretty worn out and I needed the break, but my boat is hooked up and I'll be headed out in the morning to Lake Wappapello to see if I can put a few bass fillets in the freezer.

Muzzleloader season starts here in Missouri Saturday. Given the absence of daylight movement here at home I'll probably be trying to connect on public land here locally.

I rarely slow down to look back at my hunting. Guess the Heinekens have me doing that tonight. My best 2 yr run ever....2018 and 2019.

Im sure ill be grounded in reality next year and get back to barely squeaking by with buck sightings.

No go tonight. 12 yo was more interested in playing with his new Legos. Maybe tomorrow night.
I'll go without him tomorrow night.

I'll be out in the morning, best wind I am going to get before the rains move in. Northwest it is, not desireavle but definitely better than southwest.

Got the snow plow assembled this afternoon so bringing the 4 wheeler back with me to get it adjusted on it. Simple enough disconnect so can haul 4 wheeler back and forth each hunt if I make it out again before season close.

Don't sell yourself short. You are one of the hardest working hunters on here. Anyone who can consistently kill deer on large tracts of public land has something going for himself.

Actually getting a bit of a signal. In stand and didn't blow anything out. Surprised at how many scrapes are still open. New one up wind about 45yds.

Won't be waiting for a buck though. I'm breaking a lot of common practices, was hard to get out of bed this morning

Just know that I am putting deer dander tobthe extreme test.

Something tells me I'm not going to be able to see very well in 12 minutes.

Noce constant breeze though, supposed to lay down to light and variable later. Hopefully it takes its time doing so.

Slow start, turkeys on the next property very vocal this morning.

Starting to regret leaving gloves and hand warmers in the truck.

    Well, chit.

Heard a truck of all things just off the property to my east, straight ahead, then it stops and a couple doore shut. Shortly after the distinct rumble of diesel engines as a back hoe and some other gargantuan piece if machinery fire up.

They're under the powerlines. Back hoe and now a dozer aboit 70yds away.

Think this sit just abruptly ended. Not sure if it's the power company clearing right of way, neighbors clearing it or loggers cutting roads.

Trying to give it until 9, confidence is 0

Almost comical really, sometimes your gut is right. Stay in bed and make a trip for the 4 wheeler.

Think they just went on break. Silence has filled the air. 15 minutes and I'm out
