    I snuck out just before it got to dark. Didn't spook anything. Back out tomorrow evening. Sleeping in tomorrow.

    I was on the ground still hunting tonight so I really couldn't update. Had two does on separate occasions in range but no shot. What a rush! I was full draw on one and she just wouldn't hit an opening. Hitting public tomorrow evening and taking the lone wolf. I'll update as usual then. Good luck to those heading out in the morning.

    It’s a cool 50 this morning, this will be an interesting hunt, I am going into an area blind and hanging the cop in the dark brought a really strong flashlight to hopefully be able to see some shooting lanes or deer trails while setting up!

    I’m all set up. I have no expectations for this spot I’m in, it’s a spot I haven’t hunted since I was 15 years old. I walked right past it the past 3 seasons but something about it feels right this morning. Had a stare down with a buck on the way in. I saw eyes ears an antlers.

    First whitetail sit for the year in a nice oak grove near a reservoir, acorns falling around. Duck / goose hunters are shooting up a storm on the lake.

    A nice mile and a half hike in, with the head lamp on the fritz. The moon helping out where the woods opened up... Used the phone to light my way the last half mile. Busted 2 deer on the way in. Storms took down more trees which added to the entertainment of getting to this view and selfie.

    53 degrees and a few skeeters...the thermacell on standby.

    Had a young doe and fawn come in. The doe was on alert and knew something was wrong. She caught my scent somehow. I was down wind from her. And there is little to no wind. 35 yards was the closest she got. Given her already being alert and on edge, I felt a shot would not end well so I let her walk.
