I moved to the west side of the valley for tonight's sit. It's definitely a little chilly and the 15 mph wind let's you know it's chilly.

I made bear chilli for last night and it was damn good. We're having venison stew tonight. After this damn cold wind I'm looking forward to it.

So, all I accomplished by getting out early for the "major movement period" was two and a half extra hours of freezing my butt off.

One and a half hours to go.

No shots fired but the look on the wife's face when she sees deer makes up for it.

I’m out, I only ended up seeing one doe out of range. Thought they would be moving more.

I was riding the USS America in ‘91, during Desert Storm. We were the “lucky” ship and got to go home in April right after Desert Storm,but.... we got to do an accelerated work up schedule to re-deploy to the Med in November? Very quick turn-around, pretty crazy, but I loved working the flight deck during flight ops, adrenaline rush on every takeoff!!!!

Unbelievable. I got pinned in my tree at dark by the same three little bucks that walked by me this morning even though I'd moved all the way across the beam field.

I waited for Josh to walk up and scare them off. I prefer NO deer know where I am even if hey aren't shooters.

Wait!! I'm wrong. I was stationed at NATTC PSD in Millington from '88 to '91. I was a PN2 when you were there.

In '91 I transferred to the USS AUSTIN and joined you over there. :tu:

Had a herd of doe try to trample me, shot the largest, turned out to be a spike buck. Missed another doe, forgot how high the 45-70 was sighted in. Saw several nice bucks but couldn't get shots. A buddy missed a doe at 180 yds with the 450. Fun night regardless.
