We followed blood to the second bed, but no deer we then tracked a few hundred yards with no blood, just the tracks in the wet ground and no deer. I believe he brisket shot it. Kid is bummed, but good learning experience. He will be back out tomorrow afternoon to try again.

If she had a good time that's what matters.
We hung a ladder stand and a portable in the same tree the other day. Our oldest keeps asking me when we're going. Gotta have the right wind and no hockey practice/game.

10 more minutes to legal shooting light here in NY. Super crunchy walking in. Deer have been working the ground for acorns in front of my stand hopefully they come back for more. Good luck to anybody who's out.

Thanks but I need to start getting my ass out of bed earlier. Getting in half hour before shooting time isn't cutting it.

That is too bad. My son got his first chance to take a shot at a deer this year. Fortunately and unfortunately, for him, everything pointed to a clean miss.

Getting packed up and headed out. Bringing some TP with me, it’s been a rough morning... either way, I doubt this hunt is going to be uneventful.

Well, I didn’t get to loose an arrow, but still a great hunt.

Decided to hunt from the ground today in a spot I haven’t sat before. But I knew the deer were using this area, specifically late in the morning.

So I found a bush with some decent cover overlooking the trail and sat there. But my visibility was almost none. I had one clear shooting lane of the trail I was expecting them to come by, about 20 yards away. But everything else was 5 yards or less.

At 3:00 I had a young buck walk by at 12-15 yards
and another unidentified deer about 40 yards to my left. Gonna hit this spot again soon. But I will be bringing a taller seat this time so I can actually see the deer haha!

Thinking this will be a good late season spot.

Hey its great morning to be out.

Balmy 5 degrees with 6 inches of snow on the way.

Gonna sit my public land spot this morning and then back to a friend's place this afternoon. Hunting 2 states so maybe i can double up to end the season.

I'm off work today. I have days I have to use or lose.
Not hitting it first thing with that full moon and it being windy.
Going to do a mid-day set that may make it until evening. Who knows.
Good Luck, everyone. I'm not done yet!

I am grateful to have good friends. A buddy of mine knows that I have had limited time to hunt the last couple of years due the increasing size of my family. This morning he put down a couple of does for me and will be dropping off the meat tomorrow afternoon. He already has killed enough deer for himself. Which is awesome, my family and I have already eaten most of the doe I killed the opening weekend of gun season.

Looks like I get to hunt tomorrow afterall. Coworker asked if I wanted the weekend off.

    Is it deer season?

Shouldn't be anyone muzzle loading tomorrow so I should be alone on the property.

Didn't hear fom anyone during 2nd shotgun season last weekend, hopefully there wasn't a lot happening and get some early doe movement. I'm not going to hold out for a buck In December, but I'll shoot one if given the chance.

Have two antlerless and an eother sex tag yet to fill. Already ate the 2 shotgun tags.
