Thanks man! It sucks! I'm glad it's out of me. Feeling alot better today. What a horrible pain. I know it's a common thing to happen, but I wouldn't wish it on anyone!

You and @LittleChief need to have a deer killing competition between the two of you. Go in to a new state that neither of you have hunted, one that allows multiple deer tags, see who can kill the most deer in a four day weekend.

Lc is a killer. Im smoke and mirrors. Haha. I probably hunted 30 times this year. Seen maybe 25 deer and most of those came on a half dozen sits. In fact, I only had 3 doe in range this year. Missed one and killed one. My season could have very easily ended in no deer killed. Got lucky.

That was part of my point, you put in plenty of effort, you just need a more target rich environment. I have only hunted five times with the bow this year but have seen 14 from the saddle with one arrow released. You and Johhny both have that same killer instinct, it would be fun to see what would happen if the two of you both went into a more target rich environment.

Excellent! The RIU is a couple places down from us. To bad we didn’t get a chance to meet. That would have been cool. Weather has been great. We were able to do some Kiteboarding today so we had a blast wind should be even better tomorrow.

For the record, Kentucky is where I managed to acquire this totally unearned reputation.

Where I hunt in Kentucky the deer are very plentiful and very stupid. Anyone in this forum could double or triple on the land I hunt there.

Also, as I've said on here before, the only reason I "kill" so indescriminately there is because that is what the farmer wants and expects us to do and he has told me on more than one occasion that if I kill one I don't want to just leave it lay or throw it in a ditch and kill another. I can't do that, of course, but the farmers hate the deer there because there are so many of them. It's hard to explain to him that I let does walk when he lets me hunt to help with controlling the deer population.

Speaking honestly, if the playing field were leveled Brett would most likely out hunt me by a comfortable margin. He manages to walk into unfamiliar territory and still kill or at least see deer.

Where I hunt, even outside Kentucky, I am familiar with the territory and movement patterns. It's pretty easy to kill deer under those circumstances.

Thanks for the credit. I scout a lot so Im pretty familiar with most spots I hunt. So I aint that good trust me. I fail many more times than I succeed. Im just happy to he arrowing deer. I started bowhunting around 1999. Took me 4 seasons before I killed my 1st bow deer. So Im just happy to have acquired some amount of skill to the point where I have a fighting chance to kill a deer in the big woods. Can only compare myself, to myself.

My 12yo son shot a deer yesterday evening at 1630 with the Muzzy. We tracked about 150yds and jumped it out of bed. So, we left it to hopefully die in its second bed. Had great blood, couldn't believe it jumped up and ran off. Was after dark when we jumped it, so no second shot possibility. 1230 cant come soon enough to resume the track..

20191209_164024.jpg 20191209_164124.jpg Grace and I will be out this afternoon with compounds to sit from 1430-1642.

Well I have had a couple sporadic sits but I think that may be it for me this year. Packing all my gear for this deployment and will be leaving soon. Wish you all a good end of your season and will be back sometime in the summer prior to next season. Best of luck. Shoot straight! Until next time

I finally made it back home to Missouri.

The first thing I did was check my trail cameras and every pic of deer is at night. I did have two pics of neighbor's dogs and one pic of some guy walking through my property with a flashlight at 6:00 am on the 4th. No stand, no visible weapon. I have no idea what that's about. He probably needed a meth fix and was cutting cross country from the dealer's house to his house. I don't know.

The next three days should be good hunting days and the weather is perfect, but I believe I'm just going to kick back, relax and enjoy the fire until I leave for Windsor, Missouri on Friday.
