Bonus, taxidermist text me a picture of my Illinois buck from last year, it’s drying and almost ready for pickup.

My son ended up missing at doe at about 85 yards with 10 minutes of light left. had a good hunt even though Easton missed. We saw about 10 deer. The one cull buck with no shot opportunity, three different spikes, one fork buck, one button buck, and fours does. Easton shot at the one doe that gave us shot opportunity. It stood broadside at about 85 yards. We looked for about 45 Minutes. No blood and we were in open enough woods it would have been obvious if it had died without a blood trail. I kind of suspected he had
Missed from the deer’s reaction but I didn’t want to get his spirits down.

    Ok... update

The landowner tracked the buck to the end of his property... the buck only bedded once and he believes I bumped him off of it last night...

He said the blood got much lighter bet never stopped... the was a piece of hide with dark hair along the trail... there was also what he thought was a chunk of meat.... he trailed it for a long time...

I called the other landowner and left a message asking permission to track on his land.... the original land owner will go with me after his hunt in the morning ... still a little hope .... but he went an awfully long way bedding only once
