Bucks Co, out toward Collegeville, Malvern or towards Wilmington?

I've spent a fair bit of time up there and have some relatives in Malvern.

Yep, I figured we would be getting pretty similar winds. I don't have a real problem with the wind speed itself, it's the direction that's messing me up. Like many, I'm running out of days that I can hunt. So, I might just go against my better thinking and hunt the evening anyway. I definitely won't kill a buck sitting here playing on the forums. For some strange reason I always have some kind of action on Saturday evening hunts. What can I lose?

I live in Narberth/Lower Merion. My sister lives in Wayne, not far at all from Malvern. It's where the rich people (not me) live.

Well it's real kick in the nuts but I'm back to truck. After little buck went through had at least one more doe, maybe two, walk through 50 yards out. Couldn't see much and they were moving oretty good. Almost get back to truck and see a doe hauling tail on hill need to go up to get to truck. Didn't think much about it cept thought I junped her. Get to bottom of hill and here crashing through ditch to my left look up to see a nice buck tailing the doe. He stops probably 50 yards from me, turns and looks at me and grunts. Then nose right back to ground after the doe. Weirdest thing I've seen think in while deer hunting. He wasn't huge but is pretty nice, got lots of pics, has a weird rack tho. Looks like a big fork horn but his main beams are pretty long and just has couple little nubs instead of more points. He'd be a 9 or 10 if they all filled out.

    Pretty good morning tho.

My rutcationhas officially come to an end. Couple still down there.
Wish it ended on a better note, but completely stoked none the less. Took my best buck ever amd got it done with the compound rather than the crossbow. Now just to figure out what form to have him mounted on.

I'll be back out next Friday, bow in hand and .44 mag in the holster.

It's always tough to say it's over, because we wait so long for it to come and put so much into it. A sobering time indeed!
But, with the buck you killed, nothing else should really matter very much! :tu:

And you've described my relatives that live there. My uncle was a tax lawyer.

Ok, my mind is made up. I'm going in regardless of the wind! I will not be happy with myself if I don't. I need to know I made every effort to kill a decent buck. I'm weird like that. I'll be LFTS a bit later.

Headed back to the house I guess. Totally dead out here and I'm kind of surprised and annoyed. Gonna eat and come back.

I've had a pretty good sit so far. First light I had a forky cruising. Then had 4 does feed up to me. That's when I made the rookie mistake of too much clothing. When I drew back my neck gaiter was to thick so I had a wierd time finding my anchor point. Then I rushed the shot and grazed a limb. Clean miss but my stupidity. Then they bedded 50yds away like nothing happened. They have since left. This year will go down as the worst rut weather and the coldest.

Son shot a nice 8 pt yesterday for Michigan gun opener. Only his second deer. Awesome day it was. Saw coupe bucks around 8 am and 1 chasing a doe. I asked my son if he wanted to go home for a little bit, it was cold. He said he wanted to sit all day. Then we saw the buck he shot at 12:30 pm. We have about 12” of snow on the ground so I saw this buck at 75-100 yds in thicker timber. He was milling around nose to the ground. I grunted and he came our way. He is an 8 point with 3 broken tines. I think he liked a good fight. Lol

Wow that’s the season for me. Got down went and checked on my dad to make sure he was OK. His battery died on his phone it was perfectly fine just cold LOL even though I didn’t get one this year it was still best year I’ve had there as far as sightings go. Definitely a lot to build on and I know what I need to do and how I need to do it to be successful moving forward. This is the first year and a long long time that I am not burnt out. So I am extremely motivated to make all the necessary changes. Good luck to everyone else who is out today, and thank you all very much for all your support, it means a lot and it’s really motivatingTo know that you guys are behind me 100%! Thank you all.
