Ground sit today. Bumped one at 30yds on the was in...near a scrape I marked.

Also saw another hunters head lamp across the water near an area I knew bucks needed. Fingers crossed.

Oh and I almost hit a doe at 70mph this morning, nearly messed myself. Slammed the brakes, doe tan right as the big Toyota Suv behind me passed on left... Surely he was thinking wtf as the guy ahead of him practically locks up the brakes on a short stretch of limited access highway.

On the way in had a spike walk to within 3yds of me and rake a tree. Pretty cool. Could see him clear as day with the moon. Just had a doe go by me 50yds to my left. No buck in tow.

    Confidence level -20.

What a chit show. Get to property at 5am, 2 other vehicles but no one getting ready. Figure they are inside. Go ahead and get dressed and still no one else.

Now I figure they are already down in stands.

No clue what to do, rarely two vehicles so I don't know how many people. Say screw it and walk slowly to the stand I hope is empty. Along the way keep listening for a whistle or phome screen/flashlight to let me know what stands are occupied. Nothing. Get to stand and it is empty. Climb up amd get ready to sit down for cool down when i hear it.

Unmistakeable sound of a zipper. Someone is in the ground blind behind me that I walked within 20 feet of. Would have been so much easier had they let me know on my way in.

So climb back down, head back to about the one place an easterly wind isn't so kind and I might as well have jogged here, uphill. Trigger handle busted off scent killer. All I have is deer dander, but I have a bottle and a half and plan to use most of it.

20 minutes to legal light, been in stand for 10. Stripped down to rapid cool,

With it lightening up and the leaves being down, this might just wwork out anyway.

Sitting NW corner, tried it earlier this year when i forgot broadheads then got downpoured on.

Haven't hunted back here in a couppe years. Uowind side looks really bucky and a big dead pak has fallen opening it up a bit more.

Killed my first deer ever ina 2x4 flatfrom stand in an 8" diameter tree about 50yds from here in 2007.

Nothing so far. Coulds swore saw flash of white behind me but unless it was a 15 ft tall deer was either a squirrel or mind playing tricks.

One bright note was talking to buddy before came out, he was chisel plowing yesterday morning before ground thawed out. Said saw whst looked like a 8 pointer walk across field. Thought he might have been limping slightly but didn't know for sure since just worked ground. If it was most likely one I got pic of yesterday morning. So I'll have to check when switch cards. If it was same deer shot he was right in front of cam with side facing I would have hit. So sounds like he may be doing alright.
