I'm heading out! Got about 1 1/2 hours til first light. Should be enough time to get in and setup. May not have service, so I will update when I can. 100" bucks and does look out!

    Good luck today everyone!

Wow, just opened facebook. Today would have been my Uncles 71st birthday. Even more humbling and incentive to kill.

It's bright with this light cloud cover, don't need my head lamp. Windy. Will try that pinch point where I saw the 11 deer first, thinking pressure from the other side will drive the deer by. But late morning I may stalk up toward the begging area, die to the wind.

Blasphemy, , but I'm out hunting with the rifle

Opening day of gun... in NY you get an archery buck tag and a gun buck tag.... heading out with the rifle, but I will only be thinking about “will my archery buck be found”

Here’s to hoping last nights buck will be on my wall

    Good luck everyone!

Well sorry I took forever guys. I was gonna update last night but I fell asleep! So my grandpa shot that buck yesterday morning five minutes after legal shooting light started. Came to thirty yards mouth grunted and shot. He doesn’t have to best eye sight any more and crossbow is so fast that he didn’t see POI. It jumped the fence onto the neighbors and ran around 200 yards across there corn field before entering the woods. We got permission to track it on there property so waited 6-7 hours before starting to track. Found where he entered the woods and just went slow. The snow was melting so think it was washing away some of the blood. Anyway went about 150 yards in two hours just going slow and finding small drops. Then we found a bed. Very dark blood and obvious blood on either side so a pass through shot. It then got up and we tracked another 50-75 yards where we found last blood on another property line. So now I’m trying get more permission to keep going.

I snuck in 1.5 hours before first light. Already had an unknown buck grunt his way in to about 20 yards behind the blind. Let's do this!

It's just sleep! I feel like I've been in a bar fight.
I just set on the couch last night looking at trail camera pic's.

Hard to tell. Could be thinned due to the snow melt you spoke of. Looks muscley though. Without a POI it's hard to say.
Good Luck! Keep us posted with any new details.

I'm living this right now. Actually, I barely have time to get in the stand before I have to get down and drive 1 1/2 hours to our oldest ones hockey game.

Yes it's cheap! Not this cheap many places at all! Especially for what we get when we buy tags and all the public ground that's available!
