First sit in a new set my daughter and I hung in Sunday. Nothing moving but the wind through the trees. Feels like the type of day something special could happen.

I'll be heading in around 1:00PM for an evening hunt, these 62 year old bones need rest sometimes. Even though I haven't seen a lot of deer, I'm seeing at least something pretty much every time I hunt this stand site. Mostly does/yearlings, but I also had a legal basket 8pt come by at close range last week that I just videoed. It's just a matter of time until a shooter comes by! :tu:

Getting kids on the bus then a couple household thing to get done. I haven’t done a thing since October 1st. We have had lightbulbs out in the house I haven’t even changed. Starting to get the look from my wife. Gun opens tomorrow so I can at least change the light bulbs today and my neighbor I’d have beer camp in his garage at 630 tonight so I might stop over there for 1 or 2. Good everyone.BHOD

Had to switch plans because of wind. It's our gun season so I have my muzzleloader today.

I passed a nice (very tempting) 8 pt a little while ago. I think there’s something else near, just can’t get a visual.
I’m so wound up, sitting down isn’t even an option

I’m not sure why I refer to my lease as my deer lease it’s more like a squirrel lease.

Yep, the squirrels are a PIA, and it gets to the point where you start ignoring them. It's when you ignore them that a deer is the source of the noise!

Two doe and two fawn came in behind me on the neighbors headed for the swamp. 5 min. Later a buck came across from the opposite side. Got to where they had browsed behind me ,120 yrds., and disappeared.so think these tracks are the afternoon, return to corn field runs . He had his nose down but didn't seem to pick up on those doe as interesting.
Sitting here planning on what trees to cut this winter.

Not sure what to make of things anymore? For the last few days I've seen quite a few does. Yesterday and today I've watched them stand up out of their beds. I am wondering why there isn't a single buck checking this bedding? I don't want to leave since I'm watching does everyday but something's gotta give. It's like they disappeared.

I chose to sleep in today. A trip to the bow shop and $220 later I’m ready again. I’m going out about 10-11 am to hunt a just okay spot close to home. Headed back out on the road after the evening hunt. Good luck everyone
