Sorry for the delay. Had to get her cleaned up and on ice before she cooked herself in the heat.

It was an easy recovery. Dead within sight of the stand - about 75 yds from where I shot her. Still waiting on the rest of the pics. My buddy is trying to teach his pup to trail blood so I called him to come out for her first trail. It was a pretty easy trail but she did a pretty good job following it. I had him take photos for me so the rest of them are on his phone. I’ll post some more once he forwards me the rest. Shot her under a persimmon tree - 35 yd shot. She was quartering away at about 45 degree angle so the shot wasn't as far back as the entry hole would lead you to believe. Grim reaper whitetail special 3-blade mechanical - first time I’ve used them on a deer and I am pretty impressed. It left a huge entry and exit hole. You could hold a flashlight up against the entry hole and see light shining out the exit . Tried to get a picture but no luck. Also got to watch a bachelor group of 3 decent bucks across the field for a while tonight. They never came anywhere near me, but they were doing a little bit of half-hearted sparing with each other.... It felt a little strange watching bucks going at it in 95 degree weather

Uncharacteristically slow. This is my best NJ morning spot. I did shoot one Saturday, but did not see the numbers of deer that I normally would. Not a deer moving today. Just weird. Some combination of circumstances has them not moving much Think I may get down and go pull my card and then climb back up.

Keep your head up brother! It happens to everyone. Fire a few practice arrows, regain your confidence, and get back out there!

Guess I'll have try hunting this place from 1600 till dark. Camera shows my morning spot has become an afternoon spot.

**** man, everyone misses eventually, and anybody who says they haven’t is lying or hasn’t been hunting long enough to do it. We’ve all been there and it sucks but if every shot was a guaranteed hit then hunting would get awful boring real fast. Shoot a few practice arrows to make sure you didn’t bump your sight on something and knock it out of alignment then go get your ass in that stand and put that doe in the freezer where she belongs.

Okay, my wife and I went out and found the arrow. The arrow almost had to have actually came in, slapped the doe on the back and flew on.

You'll have to turn the sound up to hear what I'm saying and even then you might not be able to.

My sweaty hunting clothes are in the washer and I'll be back in a tree this evening. Not the same one of course. No telling how long it'll take for deer to come back through this spot.

As it has been said earlier, happens to everyone. Best thing to do is get back at it! Things may settle in that area a little quicker than you think. It’ll all come together.

I betcha they'll be back before you know it. Good thing about deer's sense of smell is that they can smell when a person has not been in a particular area for a while just as easily as they can smell when somebody has been there.

Besides, in a couple weeks they're all going to switch up their patterns anyway so those deer that were there last night are probably going to heading somewhere else and those new bucks that are going to start passing through that area were probably ;several properties away yesterday.
