Congrats!! Nice buck. As for me...... not so good. Have been trailing for 5 hrs now. Blood vanished. I knew the hit was back and high. Not sure what happened. Shot my bow when I got back to camper and it’s dead on. Think maybe hit my jacket and pulled. Anyway we have been following a faint mist of blood in the snow which is melting. I’m talking microscopic pin drops. A few good drops here and there but looks like this for most part 826D0CA9-73DB-4C2B-B32B-6C1D81857B32.jpeg

Jim, if you posted right after the shot give or take a few minutes, you connected on that bruiser roughly around 230? Mid-day in the snow on 11/13....it doesn't get any better in my book. Huge Congrats!

And it gets better. I’m carrying bow with bowsling on my back. Look down and quiver full of arrows is GONE. I’m done. Have to make the 2.5hr drive home now cause my buddy has to work tomorrow morning early. This is second deer I will lose this year. More than I’ve lost in last 10years combined I think

That sucks. I lost two arrows on the opener; one that stuck in the doe that made it across the property line and I could not find it. Another arrow fell out at some point while tracking through the brush.

Yea as if not finding the deer wasn’t bad enough, and trust me that’s the worst part, there was about a $30 dollar quiver, $60 of arrows and $60 of broadheads. Talk about kicking a guy when he’s down! Why have the deer gods forsaken me!!!!!!!!!

Reminds me, when I was game-carting my buck out, I had tied a bag with the heart in it (huge fan of the heart btw). When I got to the truck I realized the bag was torn open and the heart was gone. Oh Hell No! I was exhausted but I backtracked almost to where I started and found that thing. I would have searched all night

Shocker. A few years ago I was a real idiot. Stepped on my bow string coming out of my stand on Nov 7. Morning of Nov 8th Im getting it restrung and my buddies are texting me pics of bucks they arrowed. Get my bow restrung and it is shooting good. Within 1 hr of being on stand in the afternoon I have a shooter come in and shoot right over his back at 20 yds. I think I let all that pressure get to me. Talk about down in the dumps.

Slow down. Find your stuff. Get back on track. Like an nfl defensive back who just got burned bad. Forget it and move on.

I give a better story later but the shot was 40yds, he went 20yds and tipped over. That's the way I like it![IMG]
