Kinda weird there's no blood leaving the bed, there's also 2 other beds within 10 yards but no blood in either

If he is then he will most likely live... it’s been over 18 hours

I wonder if you drove that arrow through its front leg and into its chest cavity a bit

Figure out the shape and length of his hoof tracks and then start looking for those in the snow. Or mud

Idk kinda starting to think one i saw run off when got out here was him. The last bed found blood was froze so dont think he was just here. From bed to where saw the one run off is a good 100 yards. Not saying it's impossible but wouldn't be able to see sxs from where am and they're pretty used to hearing them run around. Sxs gets used everyday to check and feed cows.

Before you shot him, recall you mentioning he was licking his back or side and once he moved his head you shot.

Was he licking or head turned towards side you shot him?

Yea it was on side shot. He did that then looked back toward me. Wasnt looking at me but in my direction. Been trying to remember if the front leg on side shot was forward or back. But wvrthing else he was pretty much broadside.

That was where I was going. If he was licking shot side that leg would likely have been back further than a normal broadside deer that stopped. That would explain all the meat in the broadhead as well. Maybe the rolled blade hit the legbone and deflected it forward into the brisket area.

I think I would check the bed from the jumped buck this morning and let it answer the ultimate question. Hell, just one drop of blood will in the bed or leading to it/from it would answer the question of if he lived.

1st bed blood appears to be "outside of body outline"? 2nd bed looks like he bled while scraping leaves and snow out to bed? Look at direction of travel coming into and leaving bed. What side is blood dripping from? Look at beds, is he watching the trail he came in on, is he traveling in same direction each time he leaves a bed? Good luck
