I sure am glad I brought this heater body suit. So nice to tuck inside with the wind smashing my face

Thanks for the update. For those of us waiting, time is going slowly. But for you, time is going quickly. Take your time. I am glad you have a "team" gathered.

I too have kids, two boys that are 5 and 3 and we also make time to take some time away together as a family even if it’s just weekend trips. But my wife knows that at least 5 of my vacation days are hunting and it has been that way since before we were married. Whether it’s a full week at a time or days split up to make long weekend. She wasn’t totally for it right off the bat so we had a talk. I told her that I was going to do it with her or without her but would rather do it with her. That kind of put it into perspective. Kids definitely threw in another dimension to it but I have to make sure I find time to regain my sanity in the later days of October and early days of November.

Covered up in does. Had to shoot one that was on a mission to bust me. Shot was a little high and back. I think my heavy jacket caught the string a bit idk. The arrow looked like a curve ball. I’ll give her plenty of time. Another Arrow nocked.

The deer will always be here. Enjoy this time with your kids while they are young, and while you are still a super hero to them. Time goes by so damn fast. Before you know it, they won’t even care if you are in the same room with them. Your gonna miss it when it’s gone!! Speaking from experience!

Holt, you're right! Despite my complaining, and even though it really was a rough drag, I would stop periodically to catch my breath and just take it all in. Just looking around the woods, thinking how lucky I am to never see another hunter where I go, really does add to the whole experience. I thank the Lord each time I get in my woods. Here's another pic of the stuff I had to negotiate.

Well just got out here and started looking. Found one more spot of blood. But before I looked drove down the fence line thinking maybe he stayed out of timber and a buck, 8 pointer like shot, took off running along timber and went in. Tried get eyes on him with binos but wasn't able too. Gonna keep trying to find blood and then go down to see if can find where that buck was for blood in bed

I am right there with you. Normally I take off three or four days from Nov 8-12 or so. Family vacation at the end of October this year, and I didn't do it. Didn't even get Veteran's Day because of crappy weather and my wife's car breaking down. That is life.

I take my kids with me now. When we home schooled it was really easy to get away. My ex also hunted so we had a mutual hunting agreement. But guys with regular jobs, non hunting spouses, a week or two of leave a year then it's just tough. Family first though, without that theres not much. Families are our future.
