    Up and ready to go!
Wood is in the stove and the wife's happy. Nothing else is as important. It would be nice to see some deer though!

    Good Luck, everyone!

Damn guys, got in almost fully set up, still dark and I hear a deer walk in, then it starts grunting, I can just make out the body, gets to 10 yards down wind and hangs out for about 10 minutes, then he figured something wasn’t right and went back the way he cane!!! 5 minutes that’s all I needed for shooting light

Good luck fellas. Good luck jrk.

I spent 5 hrs yesterday getting some admin work done on my vacation so when I go back to work tonight it will be done so I can hunt a little before work the next 2 days. Get an email last night, one week before the due date of that ppwk I completed, that the assignment is no longer needed to be completed. 11.75 months its been on the table to be complete by next week....I could have hunted yesterday. Sum *****

Not happy in this spot.. good cover, but such a small shot window. Might move in a bit. Really don’t want to with all of this cold weather gear on. Pia

Finally on a high point I got one bar of service! Lol hunting a private 80 acre patch that has a few solid bucks on cameras. No mega giants but at this point idc. Had a nice 2-1/2 yo come in last night chasing does. He looked like he had his first beer in his life and kicked in the door of a sorority house lol he wasn’t impressing the ladies at all. Good luck today guys. I have a lot of catching up to do when I get better service. Stay warm and be safe

Did I mention ...it's cold out here snowing and breezy. Fleece hat and 2 hoods. 3 layers all around. They were out digging last night.

Well, had to improvise. About 30 min before shooting time I'm driving down the road to my parking spot and theres my target buck following a doe, walking right down the side of the road. 20" wide, tall tines, 8 I think, a little spindlier then past bucks but sweet for sure. Probably 125-130". So James and I park and walk back toward them to a tiny patch of scrubby stuff right at the corner of the public land we can hunt, which is fairly close to the road in the direction they were going, and we set up on the ground. We sat till shooting time, no deer. Tried grunting and weezing, no luck. So they must have gone and bedded in the cedars on the next property over, right where I saw them. No place else to go as they are surrounded by solar fencing. Little guy got cold after an hour with no heater and 18, so we left. I'll try and set up on that buck tomorrow afternoon. Full Moon is killing me.

Have a funeral today so I won’t be out. Talk about cold standing outside in dress pants and a suit coat. I wonder if anyone will notice if I wear my hunting clothes. I’ll be hunting hard the next 2 days then gun season opens up for a couple weeks. Good luck to everyone who’s out.

Just had a lone doe come in straight down wind 40 yards. Sniffed me for awhile and wiggled her tail and kept going I musta smelt good enough to not be scared I guess
