IIRC this happens when @Shane0709 kills... Takes him awhile to get it out and posted.

Either that or he forgot and too busy eating Cheetos

Until tonight, I hadn’t killed a deer with a rifle in my home state in 8 years. I have been strictly bowhunting. I have been taking them out with me with a crossbow for two seasons with no luck. My boys are old enough to handle the noise of the rifle now. So with my middle son, we finally got one down when he was with me. Now, if I can his older brother to shoot his first deer this year, my season will be complete regardless of what else happens.

Change of plans. Taking tomorrow and Monday off.

The ground blind behind the stand I have been hunting, didn't realize it is one of the hunters sons that is wanting to start hunting. Asked if he could sit in the blind tomorrow as he doesn't think he is old enough to go up a stand yet, and I said no problem.

I didn't realize why it was there, feel kinda bad for ranting about it in hindsight.

The other stand I would choose to hunt is too hard on my back, taking some toradol, flexeril and a whiskey or 2 and sleeping on the heating pad tonight.

I hope to get back out Tuesday, depends on the winds with it being the lowest high temp of the season. 25 with undrr 10mph winds becoming light in the afternoon, I think I can manage that.

If it changes will be back at it Wednesday for a 5 day grind.

Not discouraged yet, certainly humbled though.
