Wife missed a doe with the shotgun. She's super bummed; it's sad! Wasn't an easy shot by any means but doable.

I was listening to some of the older hunting public podcasts and they emboldened me to carefully reconsider areas too hard to get to our where others might not venture. I found this little corner of this 1500acre parcel.

Saw 10 deer so far inside ~80 yds That fawn with the growths the closest, came into 4 yds. Its big nanny mom held up at 25 yds but no clear shot on her.

The walk back here sucked, but if I can find a better route in and maybe a game cart, this may be a little gem with the right winds.

I tip my hat to you joe. It’s a tough grind for you and you still keep grinding away. Your persistence will be rewarded.

Well that fork around 8 or 830 was last I saw. Wasn't too bad of morning I guess. Idk about this afternoon yet, buddy is gonna be sowing wheat. Won't really effect hunting but might haveta help get bags to load drill. Since he lets me hunt for nothing guess it'd be the nice thing to do ha.

Good luck if you're still out.

I couldn’t ask for better conditions! Cloudy with light SSE breeze at 39F. I can hear everything, and no bugs!

Turns out to be a doe and 2 fawns. A little 3 pt came around but didn't chase her. Maybe already breed???? He gave me a 20 yard shot. Not legal. Now they moved away from me 40 more yards. Can't see momma but I do see the 2 fawns still one laying down and the other is up

Side note ,the wind has picked up. Out of the south and they are to my west.
