Was late getting in the tree due to road conditions and accidents 50 min drive took 1.5
Cold and just a dusting of snow makes easy to spot deer
Now just need to see some

Shooter moved along open field edge past and continued upwind from me. Not as impressed with my grunting...or rattling...

781BCDFE-CDAC-4847-A799-E4401B8ECEE3.jpeg Burner stand this morning. Hoping for some cruising on the East side of this ridge with the NE wind. There’s talk of a pics of a 180” buck on the adjoining property straight through that hole in the driveway mat about 200 yards. It would be about like hitting the lottery if he was cruising over here but anything’s possible.

Got in at 620. A tad late. Seat fell down must be last night so it was covered in ice and snow. Cleared it off still crunchy as hell. Just had 4pt come by and fed for a bit but got nervous and walked off. Wind is swirling. I still might zip a doe if I get the chance. Still lots of room in the freezer 1573214952424.jpg

First time getting out while still dark... What a **** show. So loud. I can hear deer in the swamp though. Hour after sunrise I’m rattling. All or nothing today.

Good luck guys! I'm not hunting today. Catch up on some work and got a family dinner this evening.

Yesterday when in stand I spot something whitish about 150 yards away on the next ridge over. Thru binos it stuck out and not natural. It looked like a huge main beam of a shed but had no tines coming off. I thought that is strange and probably isn't a shed. I keep looking at trying to figure what it is. Then not a hour latter that monster buck came thru. And low and behold he had a huge main beam on one side and just a brow tine! So I'm hoping I just found a shed to this buck. I didn't want to walk over there last night and screw up the area, all the deer were there last night. So next hunt will be right there on the side of ridge and hopefully it's his shed!

supposed to be cold this morning so i climbed into sn elevated enclosed shoot house.
im regretting already, its not a good design when it comes to the windows, my shots will be limited, and worse, I've hunted in much much colder...

upset with myself for this decision

Dude! I would give it 30 minutes and go check your arrow. Sounds like he's already dead!

Set up in a gaggle of squirrels. I bet there’s 25 of them on this ridge.

Yesterday was a rare day. Had the buck I wanted at 10 feet in the morning. Then to move to another area and find a brute in there. It was amazing just watching him. He's a very old deer. I seen pics of bucks when they get old there skin almost seem loose and saggy. I've never seen that until yesterday. It look like his hide was a size too big. That was probably the oldest buck I've ever seen in the wild alive. That made my hunt!
