Live from my lease on a hog hunt this afternoon. Hogs are atrocious this year and breeding like crazy. No bow but hoping to lay some little piggies down this afternoon.

For those who don't know, a single Sow can be responsible for as many as 1000 pigs in a 5 year span.

Live from the couch! We start the 15th of September. Have coaches clinic that day. Got drawn for a managed hunt! Can't wait for that.
    Best of luck everyone!

No. Checked cameras to see some other spots where they are spending most of their time. I don't have my night light setup with me tonight. I'll probably go back this weekend sometime.

September 6 Maryland opens up, so less then 2 weeks and I will be on stand! Cant wait! I haven't been able to locate a good buck yet this summer, so in a mad rush for the next 2 weeks to locate one. Not the first time this has happened, I will find one!

If you make around the Little Rock area, send me a PM. I would like to buy you a drink for your service to the country and to the children at St. Jude’s. One of my wife’s college roommates had to spend some time there with her son.

    I really appreciate that.

My hunting club cabin in Arkansas is only 44 minutes from downtown Little Rock.

Well I had my two dead squirrels on a stick and I had sat everything down to check a camera. My dad called me in the middle of it. I step down off of my stick and put the card reader in my phone, when I hear something behind me. Sweet, gonna pop a 3rd one. Nope, I turned around and a bob cat had stalked up within 20 yards of me. It started growling when I looked at it. I yelled “GET OUTTA HERE” and it took off as I reached for the .22. He ran about 10 yards and stopped and was looking at me again. They’re not legal to kill in Indiana, but if he’d a kept coming forward, it’d a got a face full of .22.

Dropped my card reader out there somewhere. May take the .45 to retrieve it.

That's wild! I've had a few crazy bobcat moments but nothing like that. Odd for one to close in on a person but I guess you had bait. Ha!

68 degrees breezy and overcast here today. Feels great! I'll take it since it is normally dang hot around here in late August. Decided to glass a nearby field for s**** and giggles. Just scratching an itch. 20190824_092925.jpeg

I didn’t think they would get that close either. It’s pretty thick back there so it could’ve been just as surprised as I was.

Went out to an old swamp that's all dried up today. Battled mosquitoes but found a heavily used trail in a small pinch. Threw 2 cams up to see what's in the area. This area would only be good early season since it fills with about 1 to 2 feet of water come Oct and Nov. Will see what walks through within the next week or 2.
