I’m in the stand. No deer sightings yet. I feel like a wind sock though hanging in to the tree so I dont get blown away.

For those on stand where it's slow... As long as you're confident you're in a spot where there are deer, you have a chance. At any time. Don't let the mental game break you during the rut.

Mental game is breaking me lol might get down mid day and hunt a piece of property we got permission on across the street, never been on the property but it appears to be a mix of swamp and pines surrounded by bean fields Image1573049771.965908.jpg

    Anyone have input??

When it's slow, some try to rattle, others grunt and a few try to bleat.

I prefer to whine a little, proven to work.

I’m climbing down around 1115 to go meet up with my dad at the trail head. He’s finally coming out to hunt for the afternoon.

pines are good bedding for deer. Bucks love swamps and bean field are a good source of protein SO GET OVER THERE IN BETWEEN THE BEANS AND PINES AND SWAMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Mud, it definitely means a lot. I’m glad We as hunters can share these memories with men and women in this forum that are basically complete strangers and have them be just as excited as the people telling the story, this is a great group of people we have here! It is now my top memory in the deer woods. I am most definitely blessed and I hope to create many many more of these special moments both with my dad and my sons.

Just moved uphill 100 yds right into he bedding area. Told myself if something tells me to sit there im gonna do it. If not im going home bc I am beat down.

Sound bumped 2 does out of their beds. One ran and stood 20 yds broadside up wind from me for minutes. I had an arrow nocked but didnt shoot. I had to quiet the kill response. Lol. Set up for a few hrs.
