A doe and her scrawny boyfriend had me frozen for what felt like an eternity.
Seen a couple little bucks and a couple doe so far. Where are the shooters?

This stand sits in a 90 yard wide strip of woods. Bean field on the right corn field on the left. Very thick in here. Shots well be under 25 yards...

Doe and a fawn then a couple minutes later a little buck was on their path.

All set up back where I killed my doe. Wind is absolutely blowing and it's warm. Not sure what will come through here. Usually a good rut spot for cruisers and I had one small buck on camera this morning at 1042 at the other spot. I'm not sure how to hunt that spot yet other than late morning on a south wind.

Same spot. Bean field just got plowed under so I’m focusing on the edges of the corn.

It’s right on the money for me when it says bad, but off the mark when it says good or great!

Sitting between three cedars and hunting the doe that hunts my stand, thanks to my little snafu the other night. If she comes in like she has the last couple of times it's going to be lights out. 20191103_155314.jpg

Forgot to mention I had a cool encounter with a fisher on my way in. He let me get to 5 yards before running off. Never seen one in the wild. Didn’t really know they were in this part of the state.

Found chunks of fat. I thought since he’d bedded so close, he was hurting. I also thought when we bumped him he was not doing well. He just sounded sloppy going through the woods.
We pulled out for two hours. When we came back in, I went down wind and my brother in law went back on last blood and kept tracking back to me. That way if he bumped him, I’d be there to try to get another arrow in them. No go. He was already off the property

Lost blood, I knew of a hole in the fence so I went there, and found a chuck of bloody fat about 1/4”x 1/8”. Checked around the neighbors pond and all the trails leading in and out, checked the low spot at the pond where they drink, nothing. Looked all around, glassed. I’ll listen for coyotes tonight and check for buzzards tomorrow.

I devote almost all my time to bow stuff and hunting. This week has wrecked me. Im not quitting. As bad as it sounds, Im going to shoot at another buck if I have a shot. My bow is lined out now and today was 100% my fault. The trees he looked like he was between were 30 and 35, so I put the 40 low. He was past 38 yards. Found the arrow at 40.
