Fun side note.....there is a perfect west wind predicted for the buck bed I found yesterday for Wednesday. I'm gonna go there before he comes back to bed Wednesday morning. I already know how he will J-hook to get back in his bed. I can't believe how much I learned from finding that one bed. I now TOTALLY understand, and dan Infalt was right.....you need to see it to fully understand it!!

I don't care if it is a button buck's bedroom or a P&Y caliber buck, I want to kill him!!

After we bumped him, we swung around down wind of where I thought he crashed. He didn’t crash. Crossed his blood again and backed out. Waiting another two hours.

It’s so thick back there all I could see was undergrowth and small trees shaking. He was 10 yards when we bumped him.

"If there is 1 thing I know, its tracking deer and covert opps."

    "That's 2 things"

"No, no grasshopper it is not"

Taken and augmented from the movie 'Red 2'

Slick...be covert on your recovery. Have patience, be quiet, slow, and deliberate....you'll get him

Looked like the doe from this morning had a holiday inn around my afternoon stand location...after that **** show I decided I would work my way along the back edge of the property to a different bedding area that didn’t get raided...
    Sweating my ass off.

Forecasting 20-30mph hour winds tomorrow. If the lake was warmer I would go kiteboarding. Might give this place a rest and try for some geese in the morning.
    Time will tell.

Just catching up. Congrats all you killers and fathers of killers today. I did not hunt this morning. Gotta go pull my set from last night bc i pretty much burned that spot. I might hunt today depending on how i feel and it seems you all are seeing tons of bucks!

Yep, I had it freeze on me a couple times when I was in the woods this morning, setting my brand new stand site and trimming. I have to admit, I'm a happy deer hunter again! I found a good spot where the storm brought down half of a tulip poplar, which opened up a nice area to shoot. I now have my confidence back, especially considering I had an 8pt 20 feet from me around 10:30AM while I was trimming my way in!! I even got some video of him. He wasn't a buck I'd shoot, but it's nice to see them on the move.

This spot is only about 75 yrds from my original hunting location. I'm right on the edge of where all of the tornado damage was. I got to hunting height and checked out my shooting options, which I'm happy with. I also screwed in my tree hooks, so I'll know exactly how to configure myself in the dark. I'm on the edge of the real thick stuff that they love to travel in, so I have high hopes again. Bring on the rut!! :tu:

The first pic is from my stand, the others are some of the damage.
