Just put on in a decent 8. Quartered away at 30. Hit him back a little bit the way he was quartered it ought to be okay. Dull pop on impact. If I don’t recover this buck I’m done for the year.

Lets go Slick! You have all day. Slip out of there, get some food and coffee, and then come back in to look in a few hrs.

So guys I went to Ole reliable stand and spooked a deer under it. I was running a tad late due to...being totally Exausted from the walk down. I mean it was a struggle. So I called and rattled and this guy came in. I decided I was done just tuckered out 33 yrds he went ten and died. With no doe sightings in a bit during legal he will replenish part of what we use good eats

That’s my plan. Going to look where he was when I shot him first, check for the arrow and head back.

Thanks a lot guys, what a great night.
    Here’s how it went down:
I was out there for about five hours, after seeing a couple of doe and passing them, nothing for a couple hours.
I had about 40 minutes of shooting light left, so I let out three grunts followed by a loud snort wheeze and sat back. About 20 minutes later I can hear footsteps coming from the thick stuff on the other side of the fence.
I guarantee you he was bedded up there somewhere, heard my calls, and was waiting for the right time to come investigate.
My heart was racing but I was expecting it to be another little dink. He jumped over the fence and stood there, and I said Whoa, Hello!
He started walking down the little hill, nose to the ground, to a drainage creek where I knew he was going to smell me any second. He stopped right where one of the doe was standing earlier and I had a 25 yard broadside shot.
I had to bend way down and I took the shot. I knew it was perfect, he mule kicked and bolted.
I thought that he jumped back over the fence and went a lot farther than he did. But he didn’t, I found him dead about 60 yards away.
I had a hell of a time getting him out of there even with the game cart. It was four hours later when I finally loaded him in the truck!
    I love this ****!
