No deer this morning. The 44 is well sighted in. Pumpkins were harmed. I ended up playing range master for about an hour as kids shot some 223.[IMG]

I'm not really after a deer this afternoon. I can only shoot a doe here until the 16th. This is more just a sit to hunt with my son

I'm in a tree about 100 yards directly downwind of him in a poor spot. I'm more of a spotter / observer for the time being.

It's still nice being out and who knows. I may get trigger happy.

Big mature doe came in and stood in the scrape. Got to within 5 yds. So loud out here i could hear her like 60 yds away or so.

That's tough but just think, next year you are going to have the best natural food plot that money cant buy. All that fresh new understory growth! I had a wildfire burn through the western half of my 70 acre hunting spot 12 years ago, it went from prime browse to prime bedding over the years. But yeah, for this year that's a real bum deal.

In my defense I only get trigger happy in Kentucky where the farmer wants me to kill every deer I see.

Y'all act like I'm some sort of bloodthirsty serial killer.

Nothing for me boys! Back in the car trying to warm up. Good luck to those two still have shooting light left! Didn’t see anything today but learned quite a bit from finding the buck bed. I was able to put a lot of the pieces of the puzzle together

Seen a couple bucks but Mother Nature definitely won tonight. Big squall at last light blew the decoy over and pelted me with ice.

Back at it in the morning. Give hell guys.
