Buck didn’t come back. Relieved I finally put eyes on a decent one this year.

Going out to the local bar with 10 of us for Halloween tonight so no hunting for me tomorrow morning. I’ll be back tomorrow afternoon.

    Good luck AM shift!

Rolling 100 miles north in the am. This other spot has hardly any spots to hunt due to military training. Was really looking forward to a canoe lake hunt.

Up at 3. Lets get it.

I had a deer slowly working my way, about to give me a grabber. He came out, another little 6 point. Damn

Saw the big boy tonight long distance trailing a doe right at dark. Never closer than 80 yards.. Close enough to tell he rules the roost...

    Gawd almighty he is fine!

oh boy this is quickly turning into a crapshow already, about half of my "preferred" gear is at my house-and I cant go get it tonight cuz im watching my daughter, nothing too major, except my bottom base layers, I found a old pair of sweat pants that seem to fit under my pants well enough though.

    Ha, you know it!
I’m pretty impressed with all the 1.5 year-old six pointers I’m seeing, it’s been a bunch this year.
They actually have more potential than a spike or a fork I believe.
These are my future giants, as long as the neighbors don’t kill them all

After the doe party around 3 I didn’t see another deer until I bumped one walking out.

    Back at in the morning.

I saw 4 does ( I think 1 doe and 3 fawns). Then around 530 ish I had a decent buck come thru at 50 yards. He didn't respond to the doe bleet or a grunt call. I forgot the rattling antlers at home. That won't happen again. I surprised myself and was able to stay. But it was due to seeing deer early, the does were about 415-430

I'll be back out in the morning

34-35 degrees this afternoon. Same for tomorrow

I might be getting my wish to start my rutcation.

Cold, light wind and winds from the East Thursday switching to the Southeast on Friday.

I actually think I could have gotten away with lighter gear this morning. Wasn't near as cold as they forecast and actually got into the 50's. I didn't even put on gloves until after that 8 pointer came through.

Something about that adrenaline rush that drains the heat right of you.

Have a wedding to go to tomorrow evening... gotta be kidding me lol who gets married November 2nd!!!! I’ll be hunting local tomorrow so I can actually sleep in I guess, hunting a stand that historically has been very good after small game kicks in and when the deer are starting to chase, might be a week early for the chasing but who knows!!! Good luck out there guys!

Went out in north central Ohio tonight. Deer moving all afternoon. Saw buck dogging a doe between wood lots multiple times. Only thing that came close was 1.5 year old buck. It’s starting!
