Wind is swirling all over, not cool. First sit along the ditch in the saddle.
Bumped a buck on the way in.

    Trying to stay awake.[IMG]

Well I've been here since 1130. I had to turn in wife's payroll, as she out of town.

Nothing moving, and nothing on my camera. At the scrap except me freshing it up

I'm cold and coughing. Not sure if I'll make it much longer. Will see

Been eating cough drops all day

Did my good deed and called it in with 8 digit grid coordinates. Also left my number and said I’d be more then happy to walk the officer in to the spot. ****gun master baiters.

In a spot where I’ve seen a few doe and that buck. I didn’t want to be anywhere near the baiter. Fresh scrapes everywhere!

Congrats FEB, nice doe! I am out of the woods from my morning hunt. Had 1 doe come by me at about 15 yards and 15 MPH, would not stop. Saw another 4 or 5 in the cut corn to my north and a flock of turkeys about 10 birds. Love my new stand placement, but won’t be back in it until at least Sunday afternoon! Good luck all!

Nearly hit a decent buck that jumped out in front of me on the drive there. Walked down to stand and didn't spook anything.

Wind was all wrong, blowing directly into the bedding area.

Didn't see first deer until 7:55 when this lone 2 1/2 8pt was working a scrape, could have shot him so many times but it's Nov 1st not Dec or Jan 1st.

Didn't see anything for another hour when at 8:50 had a yearling doe and a button buck come in kinda fast. The button buck had a big scar on top of his head, about 4 inches long that Y'ed off another 2". Guessing as a fawn he got caught in barbed wire or a bobcat got him. It was completely healed so no mercy kill, he'll be easy to identify in the coming years if he makes it, ol' scarface deserves his first rack.

The doe stopped 13yds broadside directly in front of me. Had her dead to rights and opted not to shoot. She hit my scentstream and trotted off to the woods the button followed her and they walked off.

Winds started picking up and swirling after that, sat until 10:30 and decided all I was doing was teaching the deer rather than hunting them. West winds don't work for 90% of the property.

Came back home and dropped the 4 wheeler off at a shop to have the carb rebuilt, oil and plug changed.

Just not time to throw caution to the wind, I'll be back out Thursday and let the other guys have the weekend with bad winds.

NW is about the only westerly wind I can work with. Need north or any easterly which don't hapoen often.

I have had 5 doe milling around. 3 moved off to the SW and the last two worked north. They were pretty jumpy. I’m sure they were getting whiffs of me now and again with these swirling winds

After a few dark to dark sits I broke down and went into town for lunch. Little pastry shop only open for breakfast and lunch. No menu he just makes what he wants each day about 5 choices a day...best mashed potatoes and gravy I have ever had.

    Congrats!

I coulda shot any of the 3 I seen, 8pt was too young, button buck had been through too muchand wasn't sure if the small yearling doe was his mom so let her live. I almost popped her though.

Think some of the softies on the forums are getting to me
