Had a hunch about a spot based on the map. Crazy that within about a ten yard range I was accurate. Figure a buck would like to bed on the public high ground. Roll off the hill and then stage in about a 20 yd wide block of woods before hitting the private ag fields....just drove past this....if I can get out tonight im backtracking his trail and getting as close as I can to him.

So you think they are bedding near that red triangle, staging in the blue scribble, then moving into the green scribble area?

I always set up in any blue scribble area I can find between a red triangle and a green scribble area.

They're hard for me to spot being colorblind, but I can usually make them out as long as it's daylight.

Ah yes...the elusive blue scribble. Those don't exist around here, so that's lucky.

I consider myself very fortunate because blue is the only color I can see well so blue scribbles really stand out.

The red triangles would be impossible to spot in the woods if it weren't for the unnatural shape.

Those green scribbles though... it's hopeless.

Ok herr come the scribbles. My phone doesnt allow neat little geometric shapes.

I walked all the area marked up in red...no rubs. I drove the road and only found one beaten down trail leading into the buck head icon. That is where all the rubs are. Im assuming if he is staging in there he is already there before dark. Dont know. I could set up on him and wait but that would be in violation of hunting too close to the road. So im heading into one of those purple scribbles. Haha. SE and shoot him on that little knob before he comes up hill.

Pic of the trail he is using right by the guard rail over the creek.

And pic of my beautiful map. 20191030_130942.jpg 20191030_135844.jpg

Man what a ****show that was!! Scouted in the thick stuff I used to ground hunt in the past few years, saw the usual sign. Got in and up a tree about 20’ and realized I could not see through the canopy of the mountain laurel. So I climb down pack up and found a spot along some thick edges.

Well I am out, ended up seeing another small buck and a doe & fawn. I think it might be just starting where I’m at.
