I'm all setup for the evening! Scouted 2 hours and found the best sign I could expect for were I'm at. Found a bunch of less then 24 hour scrapes and rubs along a field. Dumped down into marsh walked edge of marsh until I started hitting fresh scrapes. Set up 20 yards over them and about 25 yards back from marsh. This is a new area for me, so let see what happens!

    Good luck guys!

I know exactly how you feel. Eleven days ago I shot a good buck and couldn't locate him! I'm still bummed over it. I'm pretty sure he survived, because I got poor penetration. Mine was the result of a poor shot choice!!!!
Try to keep a good attitude going forward. The rut is still ahead of us. :tu:

Wassup guys thought I would join in on your party here tonight. Have been following thread for 2 seasons now but never joined in because I really try to keep my phone away while hunting. Don’t want to miss anything!!gonna give it a whirl. Since I’m just trying to fill my last doe tag I figured what the heck. Won’t be too upset if I miss a chance due to staring at phone. Feels like a good night !! Good luck!! Shoot straight!!

It feels like killing weather out there folks.

I still have half of that buck to process and I'm trying to talk myself out of getting dressed and climbing a tree.

Oh, we got between 50 and 60 pounds of ground (some for us and some for the dogs) out of just the belly/trim meat, the ribs and the neck. The neck weighed almost as much as one of the hind quarters.

Haven't even started on the quarters yet.

Just spotted a huge rub at 40 yards. Didn't see it when I was setting up. Confidence is building!

I am up for the first afternoon hunt and only second sit of the year . Fresh deer droppings all out in front of the stand . Looks like they have been hitting the acorns really hard.

Just inside of a field edge with some standing beans in the corner tonight about 25 miles north of where i was last night. Fresh rubs and a scrape that wasn’t here Sunday. Putting the 6 behind me as a no kill. Couldn’t get a dog to come help today and I have to work tomorrow. Does are fair game tonight l.
