So for those of you who have watched bedded bucks from the stand the past week, LC had multiple at the same time, did you notice anything inparticular when they finally got up and left?

Did they leave in the direction they were facing while bedded? Did they leave crosswind, wind at their back or in their face?

Just random they're gonna go where they're gonna go?

Feeling like I may do some midday scouting this weekend, not worrying too much about bumping them since if I kill a cruiser on my vacation he likely isn't going to be there bedded this weekend.

Got some vortex diamondbacks set for delivery Wed. If I can find one bedded wondering which side of him I should try to get to keeping wind in my favor.

Just random thoughts as we wait for slick to hopefully recover his deer.

Well guys I'm back. I had zero service to post. I ended up seeing 2 doe 1 fawn, and a flock of turkeys. When I got on the ground in the dark I had a deer walk up to me and blow, scared the crap out of me!

Mine went back the same direction the other day. Last year I had one get up and head in the same direction he was facing. I know this probably doesnt help but like you said they do what they do. Both were not mature bucks.

Well, I backed out. I was still on blood but heard one blow in the direction I was tracking. My phone was at 1% and it’s on another persons property. 76B1CA15-C3D2-459A-882E-E7DC731F162A.jpeg 76B1CA15-C3D2-459A-882E-E7DC731F162A.jpeg A5CCAD7A-83B7-45B9-A9FE-C707ABCED4F0.jpeg EB99AD45-757C-4F99-8CF0-14B43FBF13C5.jpeg

That sucks. To be honest, you said was not a pass through and hit shoulder, I think you'll see him as a goofy racked mainframe 6 next year.

Hope I'm wrong and don't give up the search yet, but definitely lools like pools of muscle blood. Don't know what the end of the trail looked like compared to the beginning, but if you were still finding good spots like that it could have severed an artery or two enough to where he will bleed out.

That broadhead did some damage, how long did it stay in him?

100% agree with Clint here... pushing may be the ONLY way you will recover him

It stayed in about 50 yards. I tracked him about 400 yards according to on x. Like I said I was still on blood. It was getting less but then there’d be a decent spot where he threw the clot.

he’s a funky looking, outside the ears 6. Worried that that was him blowing and don’t want to push him. I’d say shoulder or rib. There was a pop on impact. The arrow was covered in blood just like a pass through.

    The bick
The buck and doe left directly away from me, so they went into the wind....keep in mind I bumped a small buck heading to that stand and it probably alerted them some. A hslfbhour before dark they go up and traveled cross wind to a standing bean field.

Boy, that started out a really pretty sit, with the first dusting of snow of the year. Saw one early across the field, then about 30 mins left had three does come in right behind me, right across my bike in, downwind of my. Each gave me perfect shots at 15 yds. Whatever I'm doing, my scent must be good. 5 more does joined em, didnt see a single buck. No chasing, no action. Last 30 minutes got damn cold, temp dropped to 26. Sure felt like the right night to be out.

Good luck on the recovery slick!!!!

Notice the Sunny skies for Friday. Same applies to Saturday and Sunday as high pressure moves in and clears out the cloud formations.

I think I might kill something this weekend.

I've never killed a "buck" before Nov. 5th. That changes this year.....

To the bolded at the end, very possible bone hit. Very hard to tell, but what doea the tip of that hypodermic feel like?

Is it rolled over or blunted on the tip? You could have bounced off offside shoulder and not passed through. But by the meat on that broadhead it did some twisting and bouncing around before dislodging. Hanging up inside and fletch side towards the ground could explain the entire shaft covered.

Not sure. Like cls said, could be covered from hanging. Giving it until morning. Can’t find my good flash light and can’t get a hold of property owners. I’ll be able to glass ahead in the morning as well.
