My river bottom spot that I have mentioned to you sets up almost exactly like that. Traffic from the interstate makes it easy to slip in quietly in the dark. Good luck!

Funny how life is. Already running late this morning, I was loading a saw into the truck to deliver to the guy who bought it and didn't notice my 32 oz coffee mug had just tumbled off the console into the seat dumping half of it. Great! It was about then that my neighbor pulls into my drive on his SxS and I'm thinking oh crap what is this about. My neighbor is a bit of a rough guy that I haven't had a lot of interaction with mostly bc of his run ins with the law. Nice guy, harmless, but a bit of a nut with a drinking/drug problem. Ok, so he pulls up and asks for a favor. He says Hey call my phone for me, I can't find it. Ok so I'm not helping move a body, Sweet!...the reason I'm rambling about this is he gave me permission to hunt the lot North of me right off the beans. I've been cussing the fact that I can't get close enough to it and I know that is where the deer went earlier this year. I've been in there a year ago (by accident obviously) and holy cow! It's all open hardwoods and what I hunt is 40 acres of overgrown mess and cedars, so the difference is night and day. 2 obvious funnels back to the thickest part of the 40 I have permission on. Moral of the story is do nice things that may slightly inconvenience you and good things could happen. Now I just hope he was sober enough to remember giving me permission!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck to those fortunate enough to be out today. I'll be at work plotting the new spot. Yes he found his phone.

Well a little noisier going in this a.m. thanks to yesterdays storm...WTH I believe my trials are just landing strips for downed trees need to get busy with the chain saw here in a few. Had a really pretty red fox come in at 7a.m. he crossed my trails and never spooked walked 3 yards past stand.. that was it. Ma nature kicked in so I left at 9:45. Geez long walk up steep hill is difficult while squeezing cheeks...LOL pulled cards on passing cams. of course only deer at garden plot in the afternoon yesterday when storm broke for a little while..actually got sunny for a short while. So doe and this guy...date is off but I know when I put it out so no biggy. Way behind now neighbor way down the road came up for a visit new guy bordering us being a PITA so she's letting me know whats going on...need to get down there for a hunt just to see if my stands still there..pulled the screws on foot platform and zipped tide it up so no one can get to seat and use it..

Everything seems good, now I'll be participating from the stand. Periodically.

Just got settled in for the remainder of the day. Couldn’t ask for much better weather. Took my time getting in and didn’t make a sound. Should be a good afternoon/evening. Not too many hunts left in the year for me due to a month long exercise at work starting tomorrow. 12 hour shifts during he rut...not cool. That being said, nothing walks today! Good luck to all who are out! Let’s get em!!!

I'm in for a 2hr sit before getting kids off the bus. Deer calendar says this is the best day of the month and peak time is 1:30-3:30. Haha. We will see.

Brett, I don't know how I managed to miss both of your posts yesterday. It was pretty hectic, but I felt kinda bad when I went back through just now.

I don't mind at all. It was private land in Henry County, MO.
