Setting n the dead zone tonight. Ended up seeing 5. Forky and 4 does.

One of the does was a piebald. They are so EASY to see the woods.

She gives me a shot and I'll have a new trophy!

It's like that around here too. Some crops are out here and there but still alot standing. It dried out pretty good today tho so might get some more out. Guess its either good or bad tho most everything is out that's real close to where I hunt. Few smaller fields or corn and that's bout it. Hopefully that means deer will be moving more picking through harvested fields.

WTG on all the kills guys. Great buck chief!

My hunts didn't go according to plan this weekend but I should be at the deer camp this Friday through Monday. Will be a great weekend with temps here in Texas! Fingers crossed.

Is that @littlechief’s body count for the season so far? If so, I hate to be pessimistic but his pace is a little slower than last year. But the buck is more impressive. So, extra cool points for that.

No, that is the countdown of sunsets left that I will endure until I kill.

Glad to hear it! You kill so many it is hard to keep track sometimes. You have officially killed more deer than times I have hunted this year.

Well here he is guys! I am absolutely stoked about this buck and couldn’t be happier. So originally I was going to be hunting some public land today with Holt, with heavy rains overnight and earlier today I opted to stay home (2hr drive to Holt) and just relax. About 2pm my buddy that I was hunting MD with yesterday texts me and says he got done with family photos early, wanna go hunting? So I drive to his place pick him up and head to MD his spot is only about an hour. Got set up in what he refers to as his killing tree, just happened to be the tree the nice buck was under yesterday morning. By the time I get climbed in its about 4:15, get all set up and it was windy and warm. Right around 5:55 I stand up and get ready as the wind dies down, just texted my buddy and said it’s that magic time.. then I catch movement behind me. Here he comes, he’s in my 20 yard lane I draw back but there is a branch that I can’t get around, he keeps walking the edge of the cut corn and gets into my 30 yard lane (turns out it’s only 25) I draw back, Mehh and he stops, I tell myself pick a spot, put the 30yard pin right on the money take a deep breath and slowly put some pressure on my thumb button.... THWACK man I love that sound, hit him high and arrow lodges is in his off side shoulder, after that he went right down, ended up putting two more arrows in him, one hit higher than I was aiming and I think took out the second lung, he was still sitting up so I put one more in him and he expired quickly. This was an absolutely amazing night!! IMG_2510.JPG IMG_2511.JPG

I'm going to have to call it a night.

After yesterday's all day sit and how busy today was (along with the number of beers consumed) I'm exhausted.

I had a great time this trip and it couldn't have gone any better.

I really appreciate all the kind words.

Good luck to everyone who is going to be out the next few days.
